Narin, Ive got a question about the Cheat file. I use the cheat.dat on my r4 card.. Lately more and more games i play with the updated dat, they lock up and will not work... This did not use to happen.. Have you by any chance, changed an important setting in the dat that makes the games lock up.. I have formatted my card and have tried it again but it will not work..

Im using the latest firmware with the patched version of menu.dat in your signature.. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks..

Weird, I have an R4 as well ans have no problems with the cheat dat. What games and codes are giving you problems, I'll take a look at them. Also I haven't changed anything concerning the cheats that would cause this. So I'm a bit stumped as to what may be causing it. At any rate, I'll look into it.

I'll check some of these games out tomorrow after I get some rest. Were these games working alright with the cheats before the recent updates? Have you changed anything on the card recently? Also do you use only either the cheat.dat or usrcheat.dat file and not both? Also do you delete the file file before replacing it?

Juiced 2 was, hadn't really played the other 2 but i know there are a few other games that lock up as well but they didnt previously. I only use the cheat.dat and delete the previous one before updating, like Rayder said on his old thread..

Juiced 2 only stuffs up when you're choosing a race and its loading to go in it.. All of these work without cheats properly.. Im really not sure.. I hope you make some progress

Try deleting the cheat.dat file and use the udrcheat.dat file instead with no cheat.dat file. I find the R4 to be a bit more responsive when using the usrcheat.dat file. Tell me if this makes a difference at all.

Might be the codes as well, if they try to write to a memory location at the wrong time while the game is expecting another value, it may cause the game to freeze. At any rate, send me your saves and I'll test them out after I get some rest.

thats alright Narin, It doesnt really matter.. Too much effort.. Im guessing they just dont work.. Oooh, I remember, Need for Speed Carbon, (U) and (E) both lock up as well.. I really do not have a clue..

yo narin, im currently playing megaman battle network 5 double team ds and the code max zenny (press B+Select) doesnt work for me. im playing on team protoman btw. anyways, i found a code that gives you max zenny or max bug frags. if you can, add it. if not *shrugs*

This isn't a place to bug people to make cheats. This is just where they all come together. If you want a cheat made go to a thread for cheat makers. If you need an existing cheat fixed or have some cheats of your own you want added to the CHEAT.DAT, this is your place.

Ok to Antoligy, Curley5959 and anyone else having problems with games freezing when using cheats on the R4, try deleting the _ds_menu.dat and _ds_menu.sys file and get the latest frmware from the R4DS site (1.18) and readd the _ds_menu.dat file and let the R4 recreate the _ds_menu.sys file. Tell me if this works.

Though what I did, which seems to ave fixed the freezing errors is I downgraded to the 1.17 firmware which seems to have fixed it. Tell me if this works for you as well. First try the above method.

On second thought, it seems Yasu's r4bugfix2 is to blame. A clean version of the R4 system files work fine but when I patch them with the bugfix, it causes some games to freeze.
