Not really. It's worse on the GBC for the SMB Deluxe, especially for when you unlock SMB 2 (lost levels).

It really isn't. They adjusted the level design to account for it in every case where it would be (something most GBA ports don't do).

I love all the little touches the Advance games add. The only one that is debatable worse than the original (assuming you play with color restoration patches) might be SMW, if only because the music sounds like shit.


Deluxe on the GBC on the other hand is borderline unplayable.
