trading cards should not be legally sold to kids tbh
Trading cards aren't a form of gambling since there's no monetary value involved. Think of purchasing them the same way as buying groceries from a supermarket. It only counts if the prize is money and that the game is rigged, then yes, it would be banned from being purchased by kids.

There absolutely is a market for these cards and there is direct link to monetary value

not to mention dumb kids have no clue how likely they are to get those rare cards

Kids would buy 5-6 packs and sometimes get 0 new cards - my brother still has tins of all his duplicates that weren't even useful for a simple duel back than

The thing about pokemon effects and abilities is that, they are absolute. If the laws of the universe say a pokemon will survive with 1HP if hit by a move that will kill it, it will survive, no matter what. Even Arceus can't change that.
