Obviously. It seems more a case of misinformation, as the title does not follow the article (nowhere in the article does it mention "unbanning") and even in the article they've mixed up a few facts (e.g. they infer modded drives can play games from other regions).

But for someone who is obviously not part of the scene and has been asked to do an article on it... can you blame them for getting mixed up?

They're basing that off of... what?
The whole article is someone with little or no modding knowledge trying to make sense of the whole thing. The buzzword 'jailbroken' makes that more than obvious.

you can, because there's thing called research that's supposed to go into this sort of thing.

10 minutes in any 360-centric board even remotely "scene" related (like this one), and you'd know not to write at least half of those things.
