Gaming The eShop is pretty bad

No trailers at all in Germany as well, that layout makes me mad why can't we just have a stupid list of every software without filtering.
I think it is a shame that there are no 3D E3-trailers in Germany... I really don`t get why!?

Other then that the eShop seems to be great. Nothing special though but should it be?

...well, I liked. It's clean, easy-to-use, and the download service is very good (even with the few random errors). But can't say it's perfect, it could have more VC content and 3D pics, but is very neat overall...

..if they add playable demos, oh God, it'll be almost perfect...8D

There's already been confirmations of retail and ware demos on the horizon... as for more Virtual console, we're getting new games for it every thursday. Wii's VC started off really low too, but it quickly built up... we can expect the same with the 3ds. Nintendo doesn't want to release all the games at once because their sales will be overall better if there isn't an initial glut.

In fact, the fact that we got one of the game boy's A+ right off the bat surprised me honestly... We didn't start getting good VC games on Wii till a year or more in.

I was actually considering buying Zelda DX for a split second... Then I did the checkout and saw they add tax as well which I thought was kind of bs... Then I see that I have to buy increments of money to add to my account and I can't just pay the price of the game (This really killed my thought of purchasing the game).

Last but not least I couldn't help but think about how I can just put all of these VC games on a $10 flash card and play them on that sweet 3ds screen. All of a sudden the complete library of these games is available (instead of waiting for nintendo to make dates that they can't keep).

Pros:
- all the DS/GB/GBC/GENESIS and some SNES games

Cons:
- maybe* no more upgrading
- maybe* no more online play
- maybe* no more eshop

I think I will just download a GBC emulator and play it on my 27" cinema display with an xbox 360 controller for now.

I really hope they don't limit it to just handhelds for the Virtual Console.

All signs seem to be pointing in that direction, at least for this one last generation. I think they still want to maintain some exclusivity between 3DS and Wii/Wii U when it comes to downloadable content.

They REALLY need to work on their pricing structure.

Sure if you price your 'classic' games at a premium price, they will sell. But not a whole lot.

Don't know about you guys, but I have been watching 3D game trailers. The shop is light years ahead of the DSi store. At the same to simple, so it doesn't have all that useless PSN has.

Cool story bro. This thing just launched yesterYesterday and you're nitpicking. Nintendo promised 3D Video in the EU/NA, and therefore it will appear.

Link's Awakening cost $5.99, so I had to add $10... That was really lame but whatever I guess. Overall, I like the interface though.

Personally, the 3D trailers were wort it for me. Those were cool to see:)

Otherwise, I think it has promise, depending on which 3DSWare/3D classics come out.

It just came out.

And was delayed for three months.
So? It still new and still has plenty of updates to come, don't be so quick to judge it.

The fact that it was delayed should have been sufficient time to add way more content than this. It doesn't seem like it though even when Nintendo claims that they learned from their past mistakes with the Wii and DSi shop.
Actually they were delaying the update in whole, they weren't just working on one thing. They only delayed it so they could have one bundled update to put in the basics for future updates to come.

If they did that, they didn't implement all the features that were disabled from the beginning yet. 3DS system transferring is one example.
They didn't have to add everything yet.

That's stupid and just making excuses for Nintendo. Especially since all of these features that were added now should have been there from the very beginning are just showing Nintendo is still YEARS behind the competition.
And I am reassured if they were added and were buggy as all hell like they would have been, you would have complained then too. Nintendo is taking their time this time around and making sure everything they add works and isn't that buggy. Nintendo has been around for over 25 years, I think they know what they are doing.
You will find that Nintendo has been in the amusement industry since the late 1800's. But completely agree.

On topic: I rather like the eShop. Decent UI as well as some other cool features, as well as a featured games system that WORKS LIKE YOU EXPECT IT TOO.

Bad searching, bad categories, no 3D trailers for NA folks, the screenshots aren't in 3D (really, Nintendo?), the UI seems very clunky and inefficient, not enough content despite waiting for 3 months, and some other things I can't think of right now (i'll update if I remember).

The 3D classics seem to be cool though but I'm not that big of a fan of Excitebike.

I was so excited for this

agreed they had enough time to make a decent shop and to make the FW compatible with all games (10 or something?) which are out!

The DSi Ware library is stunningly large, and Ridge Racer only has the start-up bug. That'll be fixed by the end of the month.

The bug is easily avoided by pressing A on the start screen.

so?
is this an excuse for 3 month to late, and still making bugs on a Game Library I can count with my fingers?
C'mon, you guys must impartial, its a very lousy start for something which could have been ready long time ago.

they also promised free Wifi from T-Mobile and Eurosport in 3D over here..I don't see this.
