Well... this is interesting. Prior to Kinect hitting the masses in November, one Eedoo looks to be doing the world one better (or worse) with the eBox. In what can only be described as a bizarre tale of mystery, a Lenovo co-founded company has decided to produce what amounts to an Xbox 360 knockoff as well as a motion sensing peripheral that unquestionably takes inspiration from Kinect. In fact, we don't even know if conventional controllers are a part of the deal, but word on the street has this one getting official in November and shipping early in 2011. I love seeing these rip offs because they remind me of the funniest thing I've ever seen in Tesco. Stall set up by the main doors selling blatant rip-offs of the Wii. Mother comes in with her child, sees the cheap game machine and offers to buy one for her son. He's about 6. He's not a dumbass, he recognises the obvious fakes for what they are and kicks up a stink. The stall owner is damn near ruined and the kid turns to his mother, points to the Game store next to the doors and reminds her she said he could have a Wii. The mother is 200 quid out of pocket for trying to be a cheap skate and I'm observing all of this from Game, pissing myself laughing.

What I find odd is that this isn't some sh*tty knockoff by some unknown company in China or Taiwan, but it's being manufactured by a company affilated with Lenovo, a well-known and generally respectable worldwide manufacturer of computers. Does anybody else sense some MASSIVE lawsuits ahead?
