So, when I use USB Loader GX, no wii games show up on a USB Flash drive, but they do show up (but cannot play) when the Loader's IOS is set to 58. Is there a reason why they will show up but will not play?

Thanks a lot for the guide, it is extremely useful. Just some info I think is worth to share after I spent a few hours getting crazy :
It is currently impossible to load wii games from SDHC with d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii. This is reported here
https://github.com/davebaol/d2x-cios/issues/69

Wiiflow will just restart to vWii menu and usb cfg loader will say some random "ID mismatch" errors.

Using beta52 solves everything :)

awesome guide dude my input; there's a program called DMTtoolbox which dose the same thing wiibackup manager does but for GameCube games auto adding game ID.

what's the right way to uninstalling these wads back in the day i used anytitile because it also removed tickets.

Also, is switching game disc in a 2 disc game supported here is so how is that done ?

Used the same micro 2Gb to install homebrew and using the same Kindstone 32GB thumbdrive to load up wii/GC games :grog: only thing different was to make the drive undetectable but i guess you can also hold B boot straight into vWii

Fantastic guide! I am preparing to follow it so I can get my Wii games over to my Wii U. Since I will be using a big USB drive for Wii U games, I got one of those tiny 128 GB SanDisk cruzer fit USB flash drives. Has anyone had luck with this drive? Anything I need to be aware of on a flash drive vs a rotational hard drive? Note that this probably won't be used that much. I just don't want to lose my Wii games.

it's probably because it's a flash drive not compatible with custom IOS.
Seeing you need to use IOS58 (the official one from nintendo) to even get it detected on the console, it probably means that when loading the custom IOS (cIOS in slot 249 which is required to play games from USB instead of disc) your device is not recognized and the game can't be found. the console is probably rebooting when you launch a game.

try a different drive, preferably an external Hard Drive (not flash).

About the d2xv10 beta53 discussion above, I know it's bad habit to suggest beta53 because "it's the latest" or "it has more USB ports!", but most of the time it's creating issues. I suggested many times on this thread and in the multiple help threads on the forum to install r52 instead. we haven't edited the guide yet, sorry.

hi I just wanted to get my games on my wiiu... so I have a wii and just got the USB from it and stick it to the wiiu launched USB loader but games don't show up... any help advice ?

Is it possible to play Wii backups (.wbfs in particular) in vWii mode off an SD card? I've followed FlimFlam's vWii modding tutorial on GitHub to a T and had no issues, and can play my GameCube backups through Nintendont flawlessly, but I'm having an issue loading Wii backups.

Just used this tutorial to patch IOS236 and everything said it went through successfully. But whenever I launch a game from the SD card I get this error. I didn't get a photo of it, but afterwards it says like wbfs error -3 or something like that.

Here's a picture of my IOS according Configurable USB Loader.

because it was written before wuphax even exited, and it didn't get updated YET.
the OP is not online.
I didn't get the time to do it myself (there is another change I should do for a long time)

Im having trouble restoring my mii channel on vwii. wuphax installed fine, i have the wuphaxBackup.app file on my sd card, when i go into wuphax and press "b" it says everything went ok. Now when i go into vWII and into mii channel, it keeps loading the hackmii installer. Any ideas?

Try doing it manually. Load mocha for wupserver, then download wuphax 1.0 on your computer. Rename wuphaxBackup.app to 00000001.app, edit wupclient.py to include your Wii U's IP address (line 29), and run restore.py. You may have the hackmii loader app file, but do try manually first.
