Incorrect. Let me break this down. Keep in mind that the main reason it's not released is because Nintendo is all but guaranteed to have it patched in the very next update. If there's only ONE exploit we don't want Nintendo to find out about it because then when it's patched in the next FW, we won't have any exploit to port to that version and we'd have to start all over. (by "we" I mean MN1 and team :P)

you're wasting your time explaining things again. people will believe whatever they want and complain when it's released.

I put it in the OP so hopefully we won't have to explain it too many more times :P

But I agree; people complain that it's not released now, but if it was released they'd complain that they couldn't play their new games that require 5.6.0 (or whatever it may be) because we'd be out of exploits.

My analogy:
It's kind of like being on a desert island with a single bottle of water. You can either drink it all now (release the exploit) and know you'll die of dehydration after (Nintendo patches the exploit), or you can save it and hope to get rescued (emuNAND or find a second exploit before you need to drink it.

Bought a 5.3.2E splatoon bundle today.
T_T been trying almost 20 times loading the OSdriver without success. Can someone help me.
Here's what I managed so far.

1) Blocked the 5 nintendo server URL on router + Tubehax DNS on WiiU
2) Set up mangoose to my ext HDD connected to my laptop
3) Allow mangoose connection via firewall inbound and outbound
4) Load Mangoose server in Wii U browser successfully

5) On visiting the OSdriver link, screen turn black with few white stripes.
- Tried reset browser setting
- Tried launching System Setting first before going to browser

Non worked after 10 attempts. So i tried reset Console to stock. Now I did not set up Tubehax DNS.
Tried another 10 times.

OSdrivers still would not boot. =( This is really frustating

If you're getting the black screen with white dots sometimes, you're just having really horrible luck with it. It may be helpful to follow some of the other steps provided. Such as opening a few youtube tabs, and then in a new tab loading the exploit.

Have you tried from another site or only self host? Usually it works around the 5-8th time for me when it's "having a bad day".

It shouldn't be a console problem. Probably try loading kernel exploit from wj44.bplaced.net and see if the problem persists. I had the most luck with his mirror before I got my self hosting to work. On my end, I had the exploits in their own folder "wiiu" and they just kept freezing. Have worked since I just moved them all to htdocs (root folder) instead.

also i suggest using tubehax dns server for internet connection 107.211.140.065

Might try the 'place file in root' method u suggested. Am i correct to place the 'payload532.html' file to root and boot that directly (ie 192.168.1.4:8080/payload532.html)

No, but you could try that to see if it works. Is their a reason you're using port 8080? Usually http server is on 80 by default. Unless mongoose defaults to 8080

I had "kexploit", "gecko", and "cafiine" folders in a folder named "wiiu" in htdocs. They wouldn't work from that sub-directory for me, i tried over 50 times one night. lol I dont know if it's apache's fault or what but just worked that way for me.

My console is brand new. so i actually haven't link my nintendo account to it yet. Does it makes any difference?
Is there any particular setup needed to be done in terms of console setup other than whats being written in OP?

Okay, questions, some of which can go in the guide:
-- Can I play backups of imports with this?
-- Can I play original imports with this?
-- Since this hack grants the user more permissions than just having permissions for the Wii mode, is it also possible to hack the Wii mode starting with this? (Some people might not own a game that lets them hack Wii mode.)
-- The FAQ says "If you still want internet access I recommend doing both 1 and 2." But option 2 is "2. Block your Wii U's MAC Address (no internet access at all, can only run self-hosted files)". How does that work?
-- The FAQ should have an explanation of what Mongoose is and say that you don't actually need it if you have something else which hosts the files in another way, such as an Android device.
-- Is there an equivalent of NUS Grabber for Linux?

Sorry I meant 1 and 3 :) I'll fix the OP. Nice catch!

I had a problem with self-hosting with mongoose and receiving a 404, I changed my directory to C://WiiU/kexploit/payload532.html and same with loadiine (WiiU/Loadiine/payload532) It wouldn't work with the index files. So then I went to (IP):8080 and it showed my two folders and everything worked fine.

You were getting a 404 because the index looks in kexploit folder for payload532.html, but the index is already in the folder. making it point to just "payload532.html" fixes it easy enough. or just making payload532.html the index file.

Hi, i also had a problem with this, it took me about 20 times to make it work.
i used wj44 host.
do you do a full restart to the console every time?- after the crush, do a hard reset. then open browser and clear coockies. then restart the console again, and then try.
Also from where do you open the web browser? press the home button and lunch the browser from there.
it only worked for me after i found a youtube video doing the whole proccesss and followed it to the letter.

don't give up.
it will work in the end.

I used the browser icon that appear on my gamepad. Maybe i should try your technique. Do you mind sharing the youtube video that you used?
i just wanted it to work at least one time to make me positive that my console is kexploits suitable. theoritically it should but in reality it just does not.

Did you succeed to launch a very basic application with the browser?
Here is a test application, put the "tester" folder in your server, and go to this address : http://192.168.1.4:8080/tester (if you are still using this IP)

Also I suggest you enable the "developper tools" in the browser settings.
And save the IP address in a bookmark :)

Finally! got it working without needing to hard reboot like crazy!!
Can OP update the OSdriver to the one attached to this video please. It will really help poor newbie like me.
The OSdriver attached will show raceattack failure message and allow to retry without needing to reboot. which saves a lot of time = less frustation

1. Block by URL Filtering in your router settings
  • nus.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
  • nus.cdn.c.shop.nintendowifi.net
  • nus.cdn.shop.wii.com
  • nus.cdn.wup.shop.nintendo.net
  • nus.wup.shop.nintendo.net
So how do I test if this is working? The eshop seems to be loading fine.
