I know this has been done before, but I want to have a re-evaluation. What is the best USB Loader? Oh yeah, Configurable USB Loader FTW!

CFG Simple you can change everything...and works the best....one thing missing is nand emulation

Let's see. I've used 3 USB Loaders so far, this is how I rank them:

1. Configurable: Simple, yet lots of features, gets the job done
2. WiiFlow: Looks amazing, not as many features as CFG
3. USB Loader: Pretty cool Wiilike interface, however, very buggy

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all USB Loaders based off the same thing?

Configurable USB Loader: My choice. Also bloated/feature-rich, but stable. Console is a bit ugly. But it doesn't seem to intend to become a Menu-Replacement, which is nice.
USB Loader GX: Bloated & Buggy. Has become a joke for me, sadly.
WiiFlow: Was a big fan of it, but imo, seems to miss it's point now (simplicity) and starts to get bloated. Again, really sad.
uLoader: Don't...look...at..the...Interface...it...kills...people. Otherwise stable and bloated/feature-rich.
NeoGamma: For those who prefer a really simple Loader: Why not? Always the first when testing some new things out, and bringing some better features, WiiPower really deserves Credits for his hard work and creating a stable Loader for Discs and USB.
Waninkoko: Obsolete and outdated.
CoverFloader: Outdated (and obsolete because of WiiFlow?).

Sadly, in my opinion, nearly all Loaders miss the point for me: They are USB-Loaders, and not Disc-Loaders, Channel-Loaders, NAND-Emu, Homebrew-Loaders, etc. I don't want a Menu-Replacement, I simply want an Loader which loads games from USB, with a nice, awesome-looking GUI. That's why I'm really sad about WiiFlow, because it was this before, but now started to change

.

Note: That's my opinion on the loaders. I don't intend to disrespect the Creators of these Loaders, they all did a great job, and started the Evolution of Loaders. It's their loader and their decision, and I respect this. Thanks @All Devs for your hard work, and thanks for the freedom to choose from such a big "pile" of loaders!

I agree with you. Simplicity is the best for USB Loaders, and all of them are moving a way from it.

lol only thing wiiflow is missing that cfg has atm is alt dol+, wiitdb.zip, and configurable buttons i think. And then we have quite a few things they dont atm as well. Compatibility is roughly identical.

If you liked wiiflow without all the features you can continue to use an old version, so you lost nothing here.

How is USB Loader GX buggy? I use it all the time and never crashes on me!

I agree on the simplicity though, they should just run USB ISO games, and nothing else

The people who complain about GX being is buggy are the same people who don't realize they are using a beta version. Stick to the latest stable r874 or r883 and it just works fine.

Configurable I couldn't get my wbfs drive to even be recognized for the longest time or make games work simply with NeoGamma. Installed USB Configurable and it worked right off the bat. And after I edited the xml to the interface I liked the interface never changes and been a good easy to use loader for all my needs.

USB Loader GX the updater does not work.. They want you to drop a boot.dol file into the folder to update than it crashes every time.. the developers don't seem to have any pride in the work and it doesn't work well at all.

I'm using Configurable USB Loader. It's fast, very stable, high configurable

and has a great GUI!

I use beta everything (including CFG and WiiFlow), and none are as buggy as GX is.

I use GX. Working perfectly here =D.
Dont like cfg, cuz there are too many functions (wiiflow etc) that makes you download a lot of different covers.

If you don't want to download the covers you don't need right away, just add "download_all_styles = 0" to config.txt. Cfg will then only download the cover style you are currently using.
