Only care for the older old-school games, myself.
Please, in my most humble of opinions, the new games SUCK compared to the good old classics.
Quite literally, the only exception to the above is continuations of series that are rooted back in the eighties, like DragonQuest.
Really...and even then, only if those continuations capture the feel of the older games on which they are based.
So, Dragonquest and it's "sequels" are good...but Final Fantasy, for example, stinks.
The problem with Final Fantasy is that it has not retained the same style of play...and the same feel - as the older ones did.
Ugly, are some sequels of some games, they have completely ruined them - like, for example, the re-inventions of Metroid...only the original Metroid was good.
Verily, I say the same thing about the modern re-incarnations of "Zelda" - they do not measure up.
