I think Doom is also a great choice for playing on the 3DS because it was designed without the need for vertical aiming.

I haven't played anything that was added since ctrQuake. Are any of the other shooters like that?

why i runs on an oldpc i have

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

looking at halo ces required speces it loosk like it could run on new 3ds

the 3D effect in prboom3ds is pretty bad. The ui and weapon don't have the proper 3D depth/separation and the monsters frequently display different Sprite angles up close for the left and right frames. I released it anyway :)
I think the 3d effect is perfect in doom at full depth. Yes the hud and weapon is off slightly. I just disable the hud though on the options.

But to elhobbs point, please don't let your opinion of the 3d quality determine if a release is made or not.

Often people tolerate 3d differently.

Oh and thank for trying to pull it off :)

I guess you played Duke Nukem 3d then?

I would recommend Heretic. It feels almost as Quake 1 (but Heretic isn't actually 'real' 3D) as you can use the nub for aiming.

Hexen II is most for testing purposes atm, as it has many bugs. But Hexen II will be my favourite of these ports if it gets more stable! :)

I'll try out Heretic then. How's the Wolfenstein port?

I got Heretic to work on hax 1.1b. But without any sound.
But I couldnt get Heretic to boot on hax 2.6. Perhaps Heretic will work best for hax 2.1 -2.5...

Edit: After a couple of tries, Heretic boots on 2.6. But freezes after a few seconds.

I always thought the classic Magic Carpet (or 2) would be incredible on 3DS! I assume the PS1 version probably doesn't run very well on the 3DS emulator, but a port would be amazing. Especially since, when you press Enter in the game, the screen automatically divides into upper and lower portions with the game above and the spell menu below - readymade for 3DS!

Man, the ultimate dream in my opinion would just be to get a standalone, runnable DOSbox environment with a rockin retro-looking keyboard on the bottom screen. But that's wishful thinking, hah. I know the DOSBox retroarch core is pretty alright, but I can still dream.

I personally love the quake port on the N3DS so much. It plays perfectly with the circle stick and it just feels so good. That bottom screen keyboard is also rad as hell. The Doom port is also hella awesome and the 3D is such a neat feature. I toggled the 3D on accidentally the first time I downloaded it on my O3DS and was like "DAMN DUDE!" I wish we could play Brutal Doom on the 3DS, but I know how hard that'd be to get running, since it requires GZdoom and everything.

But I seriously can't wait on Hexen II. I played a port on my PSP back in the days and loved it. Once that's up and running, all we'll need to complete the "class FPS" section is a port of ROTT!

So much this.

Do you think someone could port over "daggerxl"? it's an open source dagger fall engine.
Personally, I think most pc games up to year 1998-1999 something is possible to port, at least to the N3DS. So, hopefully we will see more of these great pc ports. Daggerfall, Half Life & Tomb Raider are probably the pc ports I would like to see most :)

How is the latest version of ctrWolfen working for everybody? I get scratchy sound and inverted textures for the ceiling (?)

I dont think openmw is possible to port to the N3DS.. But it would be the coolest thing ever, if it was possible :P

This Picture is 320X240. So it would at least look great on 400X240! (But probably impossible..)
