Okay...I just did some final tests. I don't think I can do much more than this...

Random games I tested over various beta's:
-wii sports resort: plays fine
-call of duty: black ops: plays fine
-wario ware: smooth moves: plays fine
-metroid: other M: chokes on loading channel.
-

Little king's story (PAL) works on my end. However, it does have a very long loading time (I clocked nearly 4 minutes). After that, it was smooth all the way.
Disaster day of crisis just runs on this end.
@xfcrowman: do you have a television that can use the PAL signal? (I can't think of another reason it won't work on your end)

I also did a quick test of "regular" uneek. As I kinda expected, prince of persia, no more heroes 2 and sakura wars behave exactly the same in that environment. So whatever their problems may be, I'd say it is not caused by the cDI module.

It's too soon to be sure, but I'm really getting the impression that discex = wbfs at this point. At least, I can't think of a single game that would require you to change the format to discex just to play it properly. :)
EDIT: okay, other M is acting up again. But that seems about it. :P

I tested Metroid Other M and I can confirm the same issue that Wever reported - but once the new RC version is available this should no longer be an issue. Little King's Story still doesn't work, even after waiting a long time, so I will dump the game again.

Sadly, I don't have a TV that can read PAL signal (it's a USA LCD flat screen TV), but if Disaster Day of Crisis is working for you Wever, then my problem is likely due to the fact that this game is an out of region game for me.

Lastly, the new Kirby works great on beta23 :D

Oke.. I'll check the issues with Metroid Other M and will also do some tests with the games that have "loading" speed issues

OverjoY & obcd: nice work guys, if i was not very busy ATM. i would ask you if i could join the testers, because this is a great project...

LOL, i might even switch back to UNEEK (+ cDI) / emunand when the official release is there...it seems, now with the new games, UNEEK is playing those games(see the new Kirby and Driver SF GBS topics) better then USB loaders.

Keep up the good work..

While I'd love more people using uneek, I wouldn't say that the recent outcry of new AP is valid. The reason: every time a major title is released, people who have hopelessly outdated cIOS and loaders come out of the woodwork to blame the game rather than their bad communication skills (I bet half of those "OMGZ new protection on kirby!!!" guys don't even know what they're using to run it).

A few new additions:

-Kirby wii (NTSC)
-Tintin (PAL)
-We dare (PAL)

They all work. For some reason, it took 3 tries to get we dare to work (first time it froze, second time it restarted the wii), but nothing important.

I would like to try this on my SNEEK (i know, you said that it works on UNEEK but I want to try it on my SNEEK)
care to pass the beta for me?

Thank You.

Hello my beloved brothers : D. Ive been around a while here in the forums but it seemed never necessary to actually post. But now i want to support this awesome project and help with all the power i have which are about "a few" pal games. A lot fo them hasn't been tested yet
(i have a big collection from all my firends) and if you still need some final testing i would be proud to help you. I'm also ableto use irc btw. :P Keep up the good work : )

thanks overjoy for the file.

well your work is so great, but there's one problem (not really that serious), there's a dual entry on the game list. It occurs around page 3 or 4.

Anyway, testing your work a little more. Then ill join in IRC for more further questions.

i got a hard drive after a long time now again and id like to use this since i like sneek much better than the usb loaders.
do you recommend me to get my games into the discex format or into wbfs now?

You can get your games into .wbfs format and of course your hdd also needs to be in fat32 format for UNEEK. You don't need any games in discex format, unless you want to use the official UNEEK revs.

In my case, I have also removed the update partitions for all my games, but the latest rev of the cDI should be able to read games even if the update partition is present. Finally, there are games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus that have additional partitions that are used for installing channels (or masterpiece collections in the case of Smash Bros). These need to be removed, otherwise the cDI will not detect the game.

The two programs I recommend for converting is either Wii Backup Manager or QtWitGui.

It has been a real privilege to be a beta tester for cDI - it allows for maximum flexibility because you can have one set of games that are playable on both cIOS and UNEEK. It also allows you to easily play problematic games like some of these new Ubisoft games (Driver SF, TinTin, etc), and I bet that if there is any anti-piracy protection on the new Zelda, it won't matter if the game is played with the cDI.

im more curious about the compatibility. will both wbfs and discex games have the same compatibility? and what about the speed difference?
im asking because there were differences in loading through a usb loader(wbfs) and uneek.

thanks

wbfs and discex should now have nearly the same compatibility.
If you happen to find a game that doesn't play in wbfs format, you can always extract it and play it in discex format. cDi supports both.
When I used to measure the loading time between discex and wbfs, the differences were minimal.
With minimal, I am talking about a couple of seconds. The normal duration to load the part was approximatly 20 seconds if I remember well.
The difference was hard to measure.

At this point, the cDI and the official DI basically have the same compatibility. The only exception we have found so far is Metroid Other M. OverjoY has a fix for this game from previous revs, and I think he is trying to add that to the newest rev. As for speed, the only times I notice a slowdown is when a new game is saved to the emu nand, or occasionally when you save during the game. Otherwise, it seems to be just as fast as cIOS.

EDIT: obcd beat me to it :ninja:

I know you cant rush perfection; so considering the cDI module has the same compatibility do you know when we might see a public release I'm curios to play around with it myself.
