I posted that way too early in the morning. Yeah, I meant that American format thingy.

Oh, and those tests were with beta 14. Most up to date is 17 right now, so it's not much point in pointing out differences.
wink.gif

EDIT: sorry...I was sleepy last night. Disregard last remark. Of course it's fine to point out those differences. It's too hard to test out EVERY FREAKIN' GAME evertime a beta comes out, so this sort of stuff is at least interesting.

Other M (NTSC) works for me on discex format (there is only a problem with the "home" button)
NTFS? I guess you mean NTSC
tongue.gif

Other M wbfs should work in beta17 without the home button issue

@Giantpune: Thanks for thinking with us, but unfortunately it's not the issue

Tested some more. the following work:

Excite Truck [REXE01]
Kirby's Epic Yarn [RK5E01]
Kiwi [RIVEXJ]
KORORINPA [RCPP18]
MARIO & SONIC AT THE OLYMPIC GAMES [RWSP8P]
MARIO SPORTS MIX [RMKP01]
Mario Strikers Charged Football [R4QP01]
MarioKartWii [RMCP01]
Wiimms MKW Fun 2011-06.v1.pal+ [RMCP09]

Give me a black screen upon starting:
Little King's Story [RO3P99]
MadWorld [RZZE8P]
Mario Party 8 [RM8E01]

Metroid Other M...I'll do some tests in a second. I'll get back at you.

Something interesting:

At first, I couldn't get metroid other M to work (exactly the same error). Since this worked on joyflow's end, this was rather curious. After checking the split size (makes no difference), it turned out that if I tried it on a completely new modmii generated nand, this works.

I'll check into this further (I don't like it that I don't know WHY games don't work), but so far I can say that metroid other M indeed does work (NTSC, wbfs tested so far).

Ok - I've continued testing and here is an update to my compatibility list:

GC games
rabbids party collection

Please Insert Disc
Wii Fit Plus

Don't Work
metroid other m - loops on the initial screen
metroid prime trilogy
super smash bros brawl
Deadly Creatures - wii resets
Disaster Day of Crisis EUR game tested on NTSC wii

Here's a summary of my findings:

-Wii fit plus still doesn't work - error message changed from "This is not a wii disc" to "Please insert a disc." However, wii fit now works.
-Metroid Other M (wbfs) doesn't work for me - it gets up to the initial safety screen, goes to a blackscreen, and then reloads the safety screen.
-Disaster day of crisis doesn't work, but its a EUR game played on a NTSC wii. Someone with a EUR wii should test and see if this game works
-Deadly Creatures resets the wii when I try playing it.

Nice list.

I'll post a full one of my own once I make it all the way through. For now, a couple notes:

Wii fit plus is most likely the NTSC version, right? If you have a hexadecimal editor, I'd ask obcd about this on IRC. It probably has a different offset than the PAL one (which is different than standard as well).

Metroid other M...I had the exact same thing. Or rather: I have the exact same thing. I use 2 emu-nands nowadays: my "real" one, filled with savegames, miis, DLC, a custom theme and more of that stuff...and an almost virgin one.
Metroid Other M has that exact same error on my base nand, but not on the almost virgin one.

I haven't had the time to properly locate why it does that, but it's certainly interesting.

On the down side: I wish that "almost clean nand" would make sure other games would work as well, but thus far, every other game seem to throw up the same error as before. :\

Wever is right about that the fix we made during our conversation on IRC probably will fix the problems for Wiifit+ and some other games.

The beta package that will be released tomorrow includes this fix

Good job, scooby.
smile.gif
Renaming the folder "W:\nands\full\title0010000" did the job (for most others, it'll be "\title010000").

Now...these folders contain the savegames and data for lots of games, so deleting "just" Metroid other M (\title0010000\52334f45) probably helps.

*does a test*

damn...it doesn't.
unsure.gif

(in other words: what you said, scooby. I'm just too stubborn to take your word for it
wink.gif
).

Erm...than it's probably that the 00010000 folder is too large. Strange...but at least we're moving in on the actual problem.
smile.gif

EDIT: did some reshuffling. I can hold at least 65 subfolders in that folder without it giving problems. With 82 or above, it messes up (I could probably keep on testing until I have the exact number it messes up, but it could be that it's the total size of the subfolders rather than the amount of them).

yeah i already did a bunch of testing and it is the size of the folder over all i dont remember exactly what the size is it messes up at off hand

but this is what it is

it doenst show on the disc menu

Grmbl...I've made a mistake somewhere while trying to determine how much savegames were allowed for other m to work.
mad.gif

Last thing I tried was to use savegame manager gx to delete some old ones (apparently, the newer revisions don't have that 'remove savegame' ability anymore). It crashed...and now it won't reboot.

Anyone has an idea to fix it? I tried removing the channelcache and diconfig and reverting back to previous beta's, but nothing works. Does anyone has any other ideas? (other than removing channels in case it's a banner brick).

@NahuelDS: I wish I could help out, mate. Your problem games are Japanese ones (NTSC-J). Could that be the issue?
Do these work in 'regular' uneek?

yeah... Tales Of Graces is NTSC-Japanese... it doesn’t work with regular uneek. I guess there is nothing to do about that game.

The other game that is giving me a hard time is Twlight Princess NTSC-American (the v01 version with spanish language)... it works with the original DI module, but with the custom DI it doesn’t show on the wii menu disc.

@Testers: I'm currently working on a "workaround" fix for the Metroid other M save fix. Try out beta will be on IRC around midnight (european time)

@XFlak: We still have a couple of fixes and addons todo before public release, but we're getting close. Tonight I'll post a todo list

I tested the fix that scooby mentioned and Metroid Other M works as long as there are no saves on the nand. I just downloaded beta18 and when I come home from the lab I will try out Other M to see if it works with my normal nand.

From the newest changelog, it looks like you can load a nand from the /nands folder on your usb drive with the latest beta! Very cool if I understand this correctly.

Thanks for thinking along, but I'm afraid this won't work. My problem has gotten bigger than "just" the savegames. I could delete the "00010000/52334f45" folder (I'm testing the NTSC version), but I doubt it'll help me boot my wii in the first place.

I have been succesfull in using priiloader on it, though. With postloader and JoostinOnline's settingseditor I can manipulate my nand pretty good...it's 'just' the system menu that is screwed up.
