Very rarely do mentions work for me.

I think they're broken -- if you use them on a single line (insert the mention on 1 line with nothing else) they work
if you insert a mention in the middle of the sentence, it doesn't.
gotta fix that sometime...

Said that you don't get the notification when using the member BBcode. E.G.
