A quote comes to mind: “if you’re so smart then why aren’t you rich?” - it is evergreen. I’ll have no badmouthing of coke, CEO’s gotta go fast.
Not that Elon's wealth isn't exceptional, or to discredit what he was able to do

But it does help when your family is already quite wealthy

Oh, I’m sure it’s helpful to have some seed investment potential, but that’s not how Elon entered the job market now, is it? His history of employment is actually quite interesting and it didn’t start with “entrepreneur”.

I'm better off than most, now at the point where I only have to work part time. Would be nice if everybody could have the same opportunities and a supportive family like I've had. I wasn't born into apartheid emerald mine amounts of money or anything, but that clearly hasn't done any favors for Elon where his mental health is concerned, so it's probably for the best.

Right, right. So “not rich” then.

Let's not play dumb and act like capitalism is the same thing as a meritocracy. Otherwise even Errol Musk would've been a destitute man, piece of shit that he is in his own right.
meritocracy isn't the same as the good people succeed

that would be closer to, "the meek shall inherit the earth"

meritocracy is when people who are good at something succeed

south africa under apartheid clearly wasn't meritocracy because 95% of the population weren't even really considered citizens

there are many aspects of the US which still allow people to succeed who don't necessarily come from money, but ofc in any system those people will always have a benefit - not just from the money, but also from connections, mentors, etc

Right, the implication being that the rich aren't necessarily more moral/ethical OR more productive than anyone else. Certainly Elon Musk is no better than Hunter Biden or Trump Jr, all nepo babies who received unlimited funds their whole lives without anything being expected of them in return. All junkies too, though I will say that Hunter losing a brother to war is at least a better excuse than the other two have.

His brother died of brain cancer

Elon I honestly used to like because of SpaceX but I really have no more good will for him anymore

Although I still want SpaceX to succeed because NASA wasn't pushing space exploration

Tesla can fail, it won't matter

I like how you completely ignore two facts:

1. he's a sexual predator
2. he's just profiting from slavery which is what got his family to get rich in the first place

But sure, let's praise Musk a little bit more. Maybe you can ask him to become his next Baby-Mama. I heard he's always looking out for people willing to have his babies via IVF to finally reach a count of 500. I guess you'd also claim yourself to be a christian and a conservative so surely you would be supporting this sort of weird behavior 100%

What does SpaceX even do besides blow up rockets, close public beaches and parks and drop debris around the world exactly?

Over half of all satellites in space were placed there by SpaceX - in the history of mankind

The future of the internet and cellphone service will be via satellite especially in rural and undeveloped places (Africa is one huge beneficiary) - which all started with starlink

Before SpaceX, every rocket was disposable, now they are re-used bringing the cost of getting payloads into orbit down considerably

Yes everyone loves to hate starship, but that is actually a very small part of their enormous aerospace footprint

I don’t know what any of that has to do with the $TSLA ticket or Musk’s management style, so I have no real response to this spaghetti. You don’t have to like him as a person, I don’t care. I have no opinion of him as an individual - I don’t know him or care to know him.

You can't be serious. You are really asking yourself what Elon Musk's behavior has to do with $TSLA and his management style? Well, I mean isn't that obvious? How more obvious could it actually be? Some of you people really amaze me. You are still not able to call a spade a spade even after everything that has happened since January. I dunno, at one point you people should start to ask yourselves whether you just don't see all of these atrocities, or whether you just don't want to see them, or whether you actually love and support them. And if you are on the side of people actually loving and supporting this you maybe should start asking yourselves what went wrong in your lives.

Just to get it straight: are you suggesting that sexual harassment of employees is totally fine, if the CEO does it? or that heavy drug abuse is totally fine, if the person doing it is rich and famous enough?

I’m not suggesting anything. I am pointing out that you’re having an unprompted meltdown in public based on things you yourself brought into this discussion. You can fight windmills on your own time, don’t expect strangers to tag along on your wild tangents.

Ah yeah, the typical "meltdown" bs. You really seem to have no arguments at all.

You know what I find funny: it's always those people calling others having a meltdown that support the biggest whiny ass-pussy president the USA has ever seen. The most thin-skinned stupid petulant child that is having daily meltdowns on TV and 34 felonies, but yeah I'm having a meltdown.

Here's a challenge for you: proof that I'm having a meltdown. As far as I can tell everything I've contributed to this thread is just facts. You may not like them but they are still facts. Please proof that Elon Musk is not consuming any drugs. Proof that Elon Musk did not sexually harass his employees. I'm here waiting.

Wow, that’s a lot of words.

Anywho, $TSLA is up 23.5% up YTD and recovered from the tariff debacle very well (+67% in 6 months). Good indicators, number going up.

Stock prices say nothing with the USD plummeting. Shows exactly that you have no clue what you are talking about and honestly it doesn't even make we wonder with your "lot of words" comment. Learning is usually achieved by reading and I see that you are clearly not a fan of it. Go to school and learn the basics of economics before you are making a clown out of yourself.

Terrible analysis. FX rate is only relevant to foreign investors (in which case lower is better, since that’s me), $TSLA’s growth far outpaces the drop in USD value YTD and even if what you said was correct (it isn’t), the value of USD has increased in the last few months, not decreased. Just over the course of last month USD strengthened its position by 2.3% and is currently at a 3-month high against EUR.

Not that I care about the Euro, Pound Sterling is more relevant to me. This time 6 months ago 1 USD was sitting at 0.75 GBP, it is now at 0.77 GBP. This time a year ago it was at… 0.77 GBP. Remarkable insight, truly the sky is falling. Please, never invest. My portfolio outperforms the market average so I’ve got nothing to worry about.
