No, shame that brakken is a complete idiot. I mean seriously, he must be on a drive to kill himself again. He's got serious issues....and he's stupid.

Don't be so harsh, give the man some slack. After all he did loose something of great importance to him. Something that he worked hard on.

Nobody is perfect.

Okay, so I learnt a bit more about the Brakken/brakk3n guy after googling.

He made a suicide thread/blog? wow... He seems to attack/blame others when he is just as bad? Sounds like he got the shits when Marcan banned him from #wiidev and deleted his stuff from wiibrew.org.

Did he write any good stuff? I'd like to know.

Cant they atleast get some of the site back via achive.org or something.

21 pages of very outdated content? thats just a very tiny fraction of what they had.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://tehskeen.com

Perhaps an external HDD would of made a more secure backup method, instead of bluray discs.
you have no idea how to manage a server, have you?

Im not an IT specialist. So... no. lol Thats why you hire people who do.

Just because you use the internet that doesn't mean that you automatically required to have a degree in IT management.

There are plenty of other professions out there that just as heavily depend on the internet and other computer technologies

I could care less about the drama. The man may have been a little off, but who cares? Isn't everyone in there own special way? The usefulness and the no BS scene news was invaluable. Like someone else said, it's going to truly suck having to visit 10 different websites to keep up to date. Ah well, something that good isn't meant to last forever I guess. I enjoyed the ride.

You don't have to visit 10 different sites when you could just visit We Brew Wii. We also got sick of all the random sites, so we decided to create a nice all in one place for Wii homebrew news. Thats the philosophy behind our site and the reason it was created. Very quick convenience for the Wii Homebrew fan.
ummm you site is lacking ALOT.. and ya. its lacking alot. looks like 10+ sites for me.

If you mean anything directly piracy related like backup loaders, iso managers, nand loaders, cioscorp & softmii... then yes. We don't list nor support those kinds of things, even though we are very aware of their existence.

Hope you find some place better

Meh, kinda sucks, but I get all the info I need from gbatemp to be honest.

Sure there may be the odd pong hack or whatever I miss out on, but any useful homebrew gets discussed here eventually.

Then again, I don't really live and breathe for the absolute latest info on cutting edge homebrew. I just enjoying using the polished mainstream stuff.

I hate it for the guy, and his members, really sucks, so harsh. His head will probably feel like it's on fire for a week or two, then hopefully he'll get back into things.

I'm going to miss tehskeen... didn't visit too often (once a week or so), but when I did, the info I was looking for was typically helpful, and the news was usually up to date.

Anyone who is backing up data should know to make multiple copies and use a more reliable media. Most optical media can easily coaster. Sure, HDDs can brick, but the likelihood of an HDD bricking is far less than the chances of a CD/DVD/BD coastering.

I've had DVDs that passed verification, but when I used them a week later, they'd be a coaster.

I'd love to replace find a better news site beyond one I can't mention here due to warez links. I'd use We Brew Wii, but can't because of the lack of support & news for such content. I rarely even visit Wiibrew anymore for the same reason. I only ever go there to get tech info.

I really enjoyed Tehskeen, and visited as often as gbatemp. It was always a disappointment when drama interfered with the integrity of the site. I really wish Brakken would've handed the site over to better hands a long time ago, but it was his, so he controlled its fate. Oh well.

FINALLY!

I was bummed out when the guy was alive after his overdose. But at least I still get what I want in a way.

Break out the beer, we're partying tonight.

Agreed... One less overly dramatic guy on the intra-webs!

Give the man a break??? What a fool to do something so drastic to his servers to allow himself the possibility of losing everything. Not even WiiHacker3000 has killed his wii that bad., And then to break the discs because he is too pissed to figure it out. Absolute fucking moron.

I probably could have even fixed it for him if he didn't destroy the discs. I could still probably save his ass, but he is not worth it.

Brakken; If you read this, which I am sure you will because you are an attention whore, You are a bitch, a whiny cry baby bitch. My 2 yound little girls don't cry as much as you do. Glad YOU are gone, too bad you're good site had to go with you. But don't worry, the world will EASILY live without you and you're site.

i'm a fucking member of tehskeen, i agee with you. i think there's another issue with the closing of the site.

That Bluray breaking thing sounds like the worst fake I've heard in a while.

IMHO, he didn't like to carry the site on, but as he always loved drama, he had to go in a scenic way.

Meh, Tehskeen's reviews were good when they weren't jumping wildly off topic to rip on other gaming news sites, especially this one, calling us all retards and pirates and shit, not to mention the All-american racism from brakken every time the Quran DS homebrewapp got updated with him going on about oppression, bombs, and terrorism, instead of just not saying anything at all or just posting a link.

I'll miss it for the 0-day news and the nice people from its forums. Everything else I rly could have done without.

Brakken has got a lot to learn about respect and class before he starts up another site and wants to be taken seriously. He takes criticism like a 5 year old and has had a "it's my site so GTFO" attitude about 90% of the time I've lurked and it really discouraged me from posting in anything other than homebrew release threads.

This was all inevitable at one point or another.
