Nope. Switch is my first Nintendo device after NES ofcourse

Well I'll give you the TL,DR: Gateway was the first flashcard on the scene for the 3DS, even appearing before cfws. Not long after it was released, clone cards came out that accomplished the same thing as Gateway and even had the same interface. The devs at Gateway implemented some sort of code that somehow verified it was an official Gateway and not a fake. And one day, I believe after a firmware update for Gateway and all the clones. All the systems running the clone cards were getting bricked, and as if that wasn't bad enough, even a few official Gateways bricked the 3DS they were in as well. Suffice to say this did not go over well with the scene and this website. Frankly, it was DRM done incredibly wrong, but it was DRM for a device that enables piracy all the same.

If we go by that metric, technically GW won the race when it came to 3ds CFW. But we can all see how obsolete it is now.

In these kinds of "scenes", it's less a race but more "who can release a product first, make their money and leave".

Gateway made their money and that was it (hence why GW is inferior to open source CFW at this point). I have a feeling Xecutor is doing the same, since Atmosphere is around the corner which looks like it may have had an influence on their launch price. If Xecutor's product was the only one available (like RGH boards back in the day), they'd charge through the nose for it.

Seems like a well built product, I may buy it depending of the price

That entire "teaser" reminded me of Gateway, with these guys essentially profiting off of publicly available exploits. I'd rather wait for one where I don't have to pay (or a hardmod I could do myself).

Edit: Can I also just say that this music (from who I assume is Alan Walker) is exactly what you'd expect from this kind of video?

They are mostly profiting off their capability to develop a CFW being able to run backups, which Atmosphere may not be able to do for a long time as enabling piracy is not SciresM objective.

gotta love the scene, wait for someone to release a payload that enables piracy

it will be a huge blow to TX

i respect them for the payload injection method.
using a pc or keeping the switch on sleep is to much for me.
im on 1.0 lets see what is to come
if this enables piracy and atmoshpher not im jumping to TX

lets not Act most of us will

lmao I love how it turned into a smiley

...It looks like the dongle has a USB-C port on the other side, too. Almost like a wii-motion-plus. Or an action replay DS.

...we should buy several and make a long stick with them.

I hope they release the software for their cfw too. If that's already been determined, screw me for not sifting through the other pages I guess.

I completely understand that. I was just making the point that GW got there first, but was only ever a great option if you lacked patience.

It may not be his, but I'm sure others will develop it.

its actually very very very common, its like saying OMG gunman having body armour....just because they are shooting doesn't mean they want to get shot themselves
ps3 had something like this until it was hacked and released for free. Vita. 3DS backup carts. It comes with the territory at this point.
