Announcing the device is a way to gauge the market and also could possibly force people making CFW or softmods etc. to show their hands.
Obviously with the Switch selling well, TX want a piece of that market, but tooling and releasing a chip that can't out-perform software hacks is a bad move.
Also, this same situation kind of happened with WiiU.

I can't see why announcing a product, would force developers of CFW and hacks, to reveal their work beforehand. They're not competing for a slice of "the market", none of them do what they do with money in mind. If that would be the case, then all CFW's, hacks and homebrew applications in existence for any console would cost money.

That lame team were baiting for that, trying to get a way (a hack, a kexploit, revealed beforehand) to achieve a competitive product against CFW and all free hacks in existence. IMO.

feels to me like they have a PCB but was waiting on a leak of the boot explot to use it. that never happened therefore no PCB release.

they have been quite for 3 weeks.

In the old days use to be proper active and show photos of PCB with LED's on and more videos.

Makes me suspect.
you forget they were the 1st ones to release a video of a cold boot exploit so they had it first,
you forget that plutoo and co went ballistic on release of the video

Even plutoo admitted TX couldn't have stolen or copied anything at that time.

that boot screen is just an image
that is not proof that they have cfw
so you think that is just a coincidence they they decided to fake a cold boot exploit when they had no idea that a real cold boot exploit already actually really existed and then
once they released their video we saw other teams release videos of cold boot exploits?

that is pretty big coincidence if you ask me
occam's razor

they simply found the same or similar method other people were using

please learn to read man
i said they dont need to have cfw to modify the boot screen
they showed the custom boot so prove that they exploited the system

that does not mean they have made their own custom firmware. TX is never known for making their own custom fw

theyre known for making hardware entry points

They've got the community all riled up though.

And is that entirely their fault? Or is it that people are easily riled because they have nothing better to do with their time and resources? Bickering and complaining doesn't solve a sodding thing, now does it? Counterproductive activities
won't get it done any faster, it may actually unmotivate them, so.... yeah, very effective.

Maybe going outside, getting a job or playing games would be a better alternative than bitching ad infinitum.

Ya don't say.

Most of the people bitching have no clue what it takes to R&D something then prototype and test it. Everyone bitching is just a spoiled brat. TX doesn't owe anyone anything, that's what they don't understand.
