Team FSD has announced a new plugin which will be an "extension" of the http webserver.

The new plugin will be loaded even after a game has been launched.
This will alow to for the view of the TU version, in game screenshot without Devkit, temperatures, game location Console info and more.

FSD= freestyle dash.

When the 360 got hacked for homebrew the second time (aka the JTAG hack) and once the dashboard got tweaked so as to enable commercial games to be played there needed to be a method to load them and other homebrew code. You can load them from the dash itself (see GOD install and shortcut loaders) but a dedicated program is easier and very welcome, the first was probably xexmenu which was great. Xexmenu was a bit text heavy and GUI light (although it did have skinning capability)- if you are familiar with the Wii this would be the neogamma approach. Others wanted nice pictures of coverart and game databases and such so along came freestyle dash, originally they focused mainly on making a shiny loader but in recent times (the newer developers?) and coupled with dashlaunch they have started adding new and interesting features like the ones they have just announced.

how is this uninformative post news again?
I believe it's best to leave irrelevant things alone. People familiar with the XBOX scene will find this informative; others such as you and I won't.

But if you were just amicably trolling along, then I give you first dibs.

As ferofax said.

This "uninformative" post is of great use for RGH/jTAG owners that run FSD.
Before you couldn't check the temperatures of your machine real time when a game is launched.
Along with the ability of making screenshots from games which you couldn't do before (without a Devkit or capture card)
Along with realtime game threads and other fancy things some people find interesting.

I for one can't wait for this plugin.
I'd love to make some screenshots of glitchy gameplay or other glitches.
Along with monitoring the temperatures to tweak me cooling on the 360.
I wouldn't want the 360 to run above 65c on RAM in a heavy game (you can check temperatures with Temperature dump for Dash launch but that's only after gameplay)

edit- forgot to trim the quote as much as I should haveAs ferofax said.

To be fair didn't dashlaunch v2.28 (Christmas eve last year) add network broadcast temperatures as an option?

I agree this is considerably more useful/easier than messing around with a PC though and the other features are very welcome but in my pursuit of being a bastard I have to mention it.

That's not what ferofax said ;p

Humm...
Iirc yes...
Not entirely sure but I never used it.

But indeed.
It's far too annoying to set it all up.

Hopefully the temperature monitor supports logging. I don't have my pc near my 360, so would be annoying to have to keep getting up and logging gives a better overall picture, rather than the temp at just that moment.

If it doesn't, I hope it doesn't interfere with the temperate dump plugin. I use that at the moment and it stops the current fsd plugin from loading (no great loss at the moment, as I can just use disc swapper along with it to take care of 2 disc games).

Is there a plugin that can overlay the temp on to the screen while playing yet? I know dashlaunch has the broadcast option, but would be nice to have it on the 360 screen.

I'm also waiting on that.
Along with more debugging info ;3
Like CPU/GPU/RAM usage being displayed when you press a button (sync for example or start and back at the same time)
And other fancy thingies.
