Just realized.
They copied the Acekard 2's copy/delete/cut features.

There are various enhancements/additions which we will definitely be adding, including:

* Fully configurable main screen - can specify which buttons to add, where they will be placed and what each button will do
* File operations (delete, copy, move, hide, unhide etc)
* Per game settings screen for configuring cheat codes, RTS files, .sav files etc
* Properly working, draggable scroll bar
* Option of using the top screen for something useful such as displaying ROM information, a calendar etc
* Different backgrounds for the main screen and the file list
I'm pretty sure they copied those features.

it would be great if they fix the battery consumption issue..

Who care? (err...except AK user)

I won't mind if they copy PS3 engine and allow PS3 game on the DS lol.

Oh damn. I should probably get rid of my Acekard as well. Because it's obviously copying what were originally 1970's text editing functions. It's now conventional to have as many features as versatility and demand desires. Get over it, it's not like every flash cart has to be 100% original to be good.

I can't help it but to say that it looks like you're spamming a little bit!!

(don't double post, and surely, don't post the same think in multiple topics)..Don't know what is your goal, but you collected quite a big post count in really short time..

I just think that it's kinda bad idea to organize this firmware update around skinning system..Because, TeamCyclops said that they want this redesign to be compatible with all previous skins, while tis is probably good idea because they are showing loyalty to their customers, but it's also making very hard to update and do the work better..
I think they should make it somehow possible to change it completely, because this current GUI is looking a lot like M3 Simply/R4 (but actually nicer)..

That would be the day. But it would probably be more probable the 360 or Wii.

TC keeps the hits a'coming. The in-game text reader is pretty nice, but I hope eventually they have a megasticky on the site for the software to do the line edit breaks so everything looks right when you copy over a GameFAQ. My idea would be to have a screenshot and box art on the top screen, the list on the bottom, and be able to maybe even have animated gifs for selection/hover. I wonder if the hardware can support all of that though.

SWEET! I'm so glad I'm getting a Cyclo. Does anyone know if Team Cyclops are based in the U.S.? They speak English so well and answer questions for the community.

Lol you're like 42 days out. I got excited when I saw the headline on gbatemp, thinking they were done with the gui, only to find I read it on the cyclops forums over a month ago!

I'm a cheapskate at heart so I doubt I'll ever get a Cyclo.

Nevertheless, sounds like Cyclo is stepping up and trying to dominate the competition. And hopefully, it will cause other flash carts to think about it and step up too.

Good ol' competition.

I doubt it, I'd be very suprised if ANYONE catches up to the Cyclo, don't hold your breath on it, the other flashcard teams already know theres way too much to do to catch up, all they'll do is continue to fix bugs and compatibility, but no new features will come. The only thing I can see that would catch up, is not catching up at all, rather a NEW flashcard could add competition to the Cyclo, but still I doubt it, even the KGB, i dunno, we'll have to wait and see.

looks awesome, they always treat you guys great! I can't help but wonder how long it will take for EDGE to copy it though . Never. Idoubt they'll do anything.

READ THE POSTS BFORE YOU POST. And apparently you didn't read the article either. They said AFTER the in-game text reader is finished, which is soon to be done if not done already.

QUOTEso, will this present be the 1.6?

Could be, could be 1.7, 1.8 for the most, in case it gets delayed.

I'm pretty sure they copied features.

Like others said who cares? They copied the txt reader from Supercard.
Most good games copy from other games, 3D games copied from Mario 64 Shooters copied from Doom. It doesn't matter.

Cyclo is considered to be the most advanced flashcart on the market. Do you think there will EVER be a flashcart better then Cyclo, miketh?

ANYTHING is possible, all it takes is a team with good knowledge, but it would take some time if it's a new flashcard, by then the new handheld system will be out (nintendo) so probably not, but like IOwnAndPwnU said theres lots of hope for the new handheld (I wonder what it would look like
ohmy.gif
) I'm thinking the new handheld will be like the DS and a Ipod touch together, with music movies and such.

It's very easy to match the power of the CycloDS.

Step 1: Buy CycloDS
Step 2: Repackage under own brand
Step 3: Sell [insert name here]

Too bad copyright and patents and whatever the hell will stop you before Step 3 =(

Oh. Well, if some new team does that. All they have to do is buy that CycloDS card and then repackage it with a slightly different GUI (maybe perhaps like AK2). And perhaps add NAND memory into it. Would that be legal ?

... copied the txt reader from Supercard... The text readers on the two carts are SO incredibly different in use that it is clear they were built completely differently.

It's the IDEA they stole.

Erm what? I READ THE POSTS BEFORE I POSTED and apparently I have read the article because I remember seeing it on the cyclops forums well over a month ago. I already knew the GUI update is coming after the text reader if finished.

What I am getting at is WHY you would post this here now and not over a month ago when it was first posted on the cyclops forums. Geez...
