Homebrew Teach Me how please

OK, I wanted to learn how to write homebrew, or even just learn some things about coding, i didn't know where else to ask this but in the place that i get the most homebrew from, lol...

I have...
A nintendo DSi
AceKard2i (AKAIO v1.4, don't know if the firmware matters)

and of course a computer capable of loading everything onto it

i could also use an adapter if i needed to put the micro sd card directly into my DS, i know i've seen people talk about that...

any help here would be nice, i've wanted to get into this for a while, i just didn't know where to go to ask/learn about it, if some1 could help, or even direct me towards some1 who could help, i would be very thankful!!!

If you mean putting it into the DSi SD slot via a Micro-SD to SD card adapter, then, yes that would absolutely work!

Yes, if you wish to learn to write homebrew, you must learn C++, follow the link Sarvesh posted, as for the adapter, you already have one, Your Acekard is that very tool. As for the homebrew writing, it will be a long and hard process for those who aren't concentrated enough. Hope you do well, Good Luck.

thanks, thats just what i'm looking for, i would have googled it, but what better source than go to the people who use these codes the most, homebrewers, lol, thanks, i'm gonna get to work on this right away, i won't feel so stupid after i complete it and at least know how to read code, lol

edit: don't mean to bother again, but can ne1 tell me what compiler is good to download for windows 98, and is free to download, lol

There is an excellent tutorial site for PALIB here, not sure if it is maintained any more but comprehensive examples and easy to follow.

As long as it supports the GCC compiler and MinimalSYstem it can do that. both are installed by DevKitPro though.

That reminds me... I gotta reinstall DevKitPro again >_>

If you download the DevKitPRO installer, it should install EVERYTHING you need to start coding. Once it's all done, go into the Examples folder and open one of the Programmer's Notepad Project files (aka, files that open in that program when you double-click them). Press Alt+1 to compile, and go back to the folder to find the new *.nds file it created.

To create your own programs, start by copying the makefile out of one of the examples.
