in content manager it says that 3GB of memory is for system use and it just keep increasing every day :!
how do I clear this memory?

Mine says 166MB, so that's certainly not normal. Connect with ftp and check what's taking up all the space.

You probably have a lot of garbage files after several unsuccessful vpk installs, check ux0:/ptmp folder and delete all contents.

what ftp app can sort things by size ? or at least shows the size of the folders

I always install my vpk manually by copying the files and add them in app.db so never had an unsuccessful installation
also ptmp is already empty :(

Assuming you're using Henkaku, System Use is all the miscellaneous files you put on the Memory card. If it "keeps increasing", it's because you're adding to it. For example, I have around 2GBs in my own, which accounts for all the ROMs and things I have for retro consoles.

If you want to clear it, simply delete any miscellaneous files you don't use. This can be VPK files, ROMs, etc.

Did you dump games? If so, did you delete the .vpk files?
never dumped a game

I'm not using anything only some games
I also dont use any emu or ROMs so...
that's where it gets strange

I think certain games must also add to this category.

I had 5gb in System Use and it was really frustrating because I checked every partition for miscellaneous files.
So I formatted my memory card and copied over some of my backups and System Use was at about 60mb.

I launched a few games and it went up to about 100-200mb, but then I launched Gal Gun and afterwards I noticed my System Use went up to 3.8gb, which is probably why it takes so long for that game to launch.

I don't think GalGun is the cause of those 3.8GB... I have this game and my system use is ~200MB... And the game itself is 1.4GB...

Well then that's weird, it was really low after the format and after the game transfers, I only noticed it after running Gal Gun.
I don't know if that space is actually being used then, or if my memory card for some reason is thinking I have that much space used by the System after I run that game. (No pending updates or anything in temp folders)

All I know is you can format the memory card, and keep checking the System Use size after each game you install, and then after the first run. It's tedious but atm it doesn't seem like there's any solid idea on why it happens, especially if you haven't got any temp files anywhere.

oh well...
mine is 16 GB so 3 GB isn't good enough to force me on formatting

Do you have dlc installed?
I have 1064MB installed on system use.
DLC goes there i think.
or maybe because of PSP games when you install data on the system just like DLC.
