Hacking System update (which i blocked) is blocking my download queue. Help!

Making a long story short, I bought smash 4 on release, and had to delete it to make room for BotW (which was too slow in loadiine). Now i need to bring Smash to a party, but when i went to re-download it it doesn't seem to be working. The Wii U wants to update, and that download is taking priority.

I've blocked system updates, and i believe allowing the system to update would end up bricking the system or forcing me to jump through hoops to access homebrew launcher/channel/loadiine. So... what do I to make the system ignore the update data?

That's what I did to access the eshop to redownload smash, yes.

To be clear, how are you blocking updates? Did it download partially?

Um... I'm not sure of the names, i rarely have to deal with wii u hacking so I'm not very knowledgeable. Hopefully this is specific enough: I'm blocking by the IP address method. (035.164.240.189 and 168.235.092.108).

I'm fairly positive none of the three downloads (system update, smash, smash update) have started. Smash tries to, but it seems to be unable to actually start until the first download--the system update--is deleted or completed.

did you try unplugging the console from power source?
usually, rebooting the console removes the system update at the top, as the console doesn't check for update every day or at every boot.

You can also try to select one of your game in the download queue and set it as priority before rebooting the console.
be sure you completely switch off (don't use standby).

Usually it worked for me, but strangely a friend of mine said he couldn't get that blocked download to be deleted from the queue even after a reboot.

Mine isn't removing the download after reboot either. I haven't found a priority option.

If you remove the updates folder that should fix the problem. I think there is a tutorial on it. Basically boot into Mocha so you can run ftpiiU_everywhere then use an ftp client on your pc to connect to the Wii U and delete the system updates folder. The Wii U shouldn't ever be able to auto update itself after that.

Gee, now that i finally found how to get past the update, the "unplug' method decided to work.

i feel so trolled. Well, thanks for the help everyone!
