Ok, this autoboot discussion got me thinking a little.
Is it possible that the System Menu contains the region checking code? If it does then is it possible that once we're booted up to just Load an alternate System Menu (the PAL/NTSC) choice. Or what about taking the Disc Channel and cloning it and making a second Disc Channel, then when you insert the disc, the disc will pop up in whichever of the two channels matches it's region.
All pure speculation of course. And all depending on system menu being the determining factor.
EDIT: kinda thought that over a little more and since the Disc Channel is part of System Menu (correct me if I'm wrong) you couldn't have 2 disc channels because you can't load 2 system menus at once.
Not asking anyone to try this because it sounds like suicide, but has anyone ever tried installing an Out Of Region system menu wad on their system? Will System menu 3.2E instll on a 3.2U? Or has anybody read in a thread about someone trying this and posing their results? Sound like an Idea to me but also sound like a SURE BRICK if it doesn't work.
