Did you download games off internet, or did you rip your games?

i'm guessing it's a downloaded game, cause most if not all games. work an do not need the extra steps to get working.
but seriously even if it's a downloaded game, the op is doing a lot of unnecessary work to get it to run.
if he would just follow my posted answer. about alt dol in gx he would be playing by now. yeah granted by time he is done he will have learned a lot.( doubt he even modded his own wii, probably $$. some scammer to do it.). or he would know how to run mod mii..(shit my 7yr can use it. .. an update the wii. this is no damn joke.)

Glad you got it right,
Try loading Black-Ops using IOS 250 most loaders have an option to select IOS for a game one this game is selected.
You should be fine though you didn't update cIOS 250 using ModMii to d2xv8final (still v18).
if you encounter any problems just use ModMii again to get cIOS250 base 57 d2xv8final and I can guarantee successful loading of Black-Ops.

ive managed how to download cover art in loader gx, although, sometimes it says...
" Error! can't creat directory sd:/config/images/
and other times the covers have downloaded succesfully, but when i leave loader gx and go back in again they are gone???\

also on wii home page i have
2x usb loader icons
2 x wiiflow icons do i need wiiflow?

You should check the settings for "cover path" in GX & check that the mentioned folder exists on a Fat or Fat32 formatted SD card.

You can have and enjoy all loaders but make sure to download latest stable revision, another great loader is USB-Loader-CFG and also the universal forwarder Post Loader 4.
Have fun setting up your loaders and I hope you'll learn a lot.

P.S. Alternative way to get covers is to use Wii-Backup Manager or Wii-Game Manager on your PC, then copy the covers in the appropriate folder structure to your SD (depending on the loader you want to use)

i just did the cover path thing, but set it in usb,
it worked and even the theme aswell,
but it still defaults back to normally when logging out of gx and then going back in???

i removed the sd card now it loads up fine, keeps the theme and all artwork!
is there any reason to leave the sd card in?
i can load usb loader gx directly from wii home page,
one thing ive noticed is as i said before i have 2 home screen gx icons,
one loads up just as i described the other appears to need the sd card installed,
i then wish to uninstall that wii home screnn icon, but im unsure how to do it, and also dont want to unistall the one which is loading everything from the usb?

you can delete it from wii settings> data Management > channels > Wii
you can always get the latest, loader, channels and forwarders by visiting their corresponding thread in Backup-Loaders sub forum (check the stickies on top):

is it possible to have them on the hard drive aswell and work without the sd card?

one last q
ive seen on you tube that some people have for example sega master system of wii64 icon thats found in the home brew channel arranged somehow so you see it as a channel in the wii menu
can it be done is it hard?

Don't know what you exactly mean but you might look for "Channels" or "Forwarders", they are all over the place - Channels don't need an SD or USB to boot (but you need one or the other to store and run your roms) while forwarders launch the Emulator from your SD or USB (from apps folder) and is easy to update by just having the latest "dol".

Both needs a wad manager to install and will appear as a channel in the Wii system menu

No this is a channel installer, to be used with homebrew channel - However when you run it a channel will be created in system menu.
Channels and Forwarders are "wad" file installed directly via MMM or wad managers. just google them like this for example: "Wii64 Forwarder channel" or "SNESGX channel wad" ... and you'll like the results

P.S. be sure you have priiloader or bootmii as boot2 installed before you install any wad cause a wrong/bad/corrupt wad can give you a bannerbrick
I suggest testing in Dolphin before trying anything on the real wii.

how do i tell if i have installed bootmii properly?
i think i did, i had a folder to put some saved files in after letterbombing

from downloading so many things i cant remember what they are all for!

From your syscheck I know you have bootmii as ios, but I doubt you have it at boot2.
I recommend you install priiloader as brick protection especially if you want to experiment with channels and forwarders.
Download priiloader and extract the folder in your apps folder and launch the installer via homebrew channel, latest is v0.8 iirc

but was unsure at the beginning if i should use it, with all the warnings coming up!!
