Okay so, essentially for some reason booting my N3DS now presents me with a black screen, while it worked perfectly before.

I can still access the Luma3ds(6.3.1) config by holding select on boot, as well as Decrypt9. It will even show recovery mode when holding L+R+UP+A on boot - If I update through recovery mode will al9h stay intact?

I've tried restoring my original 9.2 NAND yet I'm still getting a black screen.

Is it dead? Well I'm at a loss, can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Do you have a custom-font installed?

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply, although no, I have no custom fonts.
    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

Do you have a DS cartridge inside? If so please take it out.

Specifically a flashcard, especially a DSTWO. I had the exact same problem yesterday and removing my DSTWO solved it.

Did you update your emunand/ luma sysnand to 11.2.

I did the other day and had the same issue. All i did was update luma and it worked fine again. Just download the latest version off the site and copy over the new armloaderhax file

I have no cartridges in at all.

It was on 11.0 when it started showing a black screen and had been for a while. I also am already using the latest stable version of Luma3ds.

    Thanks

oh i know the issue , you turn your 3ds off and didn't notice it that it close extremely fast. you did something that caused the 3ds to do crazy things and close the 3ds at the same time. usually that would just corrupt the extdata of the theme manager, but in some cases it would brick the 3ds. don't worry most of the bricks caused by this are softbricks easly capable of restoring your nand dump

Unfortunately restoring from any of my backups, though succesful, still results in a black screen.

    Thanks

Restore NAND backup and remove Nintendo 3DS folder from SD card. Then boot the console.

Already tried deleting the Nintendo 3DS folder and it doesn't seem to change anything, still a black screen.
And at this point I have tried multiple of my NAND backups.

    Thanks

    MY ASS!
Make sure all correct files are on sd or replace your arm9hax.bin with a new one

So I went ahead and updated through recovery mode, presumably to 11.2, aaand still a black screen...

I double checked and everything looks good to go, I got a new microSD and re-downloaded everything but still a no-go.

So far this seems like the only thing I haven't done, what exactly should I be doing, what ctrNAND should I flash?

    Thanks everyone.

Get the correct CTRNAND for your model/region from here: https://plailect.github.io/Guide/region-changing

Okay so, I have successfully flashed my CTRNAND as per the instructions but I am still getting a black screen on boot. However, I'm now also able to hear the system music, any ideas?

    Thanks

Did you wait a bit? Sometimes it takes a while to setup the home folder.

Can you recall anything you may have done the day this started that was out of your ordinary routine while it was working?

It seems you already tried most of these, but here is a troubleshooting steps from plailect guide:
Black screen on SysNAND boot after installing arm9loaderhax
    1. Ensure you have a working payload.
      1. Check for the existence of arm9loaderhax.bin in the root of your SD card.
    2. Try resetting Luma’s config and fix options
      1. Delete /luma/config.bin from your SD card
      2. Set your options when it boots
    3. Test booting Hourglass9
      1. On Luma3DS, hold Start on boot
    4. Try deleting home menu’s extdata
      1. Clear Home Menu’s extdata by navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
        • EUR Region: Delete 00000098
        • JPN Region: Delete 00000082
        • USA Region: Delete 0000008f
        • CHN Region: Delete 000000A1
        • KOR Region: Delete 000000A9
        • TWN Region: Delete 000000B1
    5. Try booting without any cartridges inserted (including flashcarts)
    6. Try this test payload .
      1. Rename /arm9loaderhax.bin, if it exists, to something else.
      2. Place the arm9loaderhax.bin from the archive linked above in your SD root.
      3. Insert your SD card into your 3DS and power on.
      4. Press (A). Your 3DS should power off; this means arm9loaderhax is working and something else is broken; your device is not bricked.
    7. If you previously downgraded with Gateway, ensure that you are using the latest Luma3DS version (v6.2.3 or higher, at the least)
    8. Try following 9.2.0 ctrtransfer starting on Step 4.
    9. Ask for help at #3dshacks on Rizon IRC or 3DS Hacking on Discord.

    Maybe try fix #2?

Interestingly, sometimes I can hear the system music and other times not, but regardless of how long I leave it, it will always show a black screen.

Also, I don't recall anything out of the ordinary. A day or two before I updated Luma3DS through Luma Updater but that was it, the black screens just came out of the blue a while later.

And yes I have tried pretty much all of them, including #2, and unfortunately none of them have worked. I'm starting to lose hope at this point :(

    Thanks
