I created this jig holder that clips on to the sx pro dongle to keep them together. I was afraid I would end up loosing the jig so I thought keeping it clipped on to the dongle was a good idea.

It took about 30mins to print and works great. The piece is thin enough so the sx pro still connects all the way in to switch even with the holder clipped on.

I would post pictures if I could.

Check out the part here thingiverse . com/thing:3001488

How much do those printing services run? I like the idea here. One thought though, I think having that kick around might make it a cat toy. Could you design one that attaches to the dock or the switch? Somewhere good for storage. Maybe have it cover the USB tip to protect it? Maybe a portable version? Have it attach somewhere to the console to I don't have to leave my switch in sleep mode in while taking it out and about?

I was thinking a maybe a companion portable device would be cool. If I had a 3D printer I would try it. Maybe something portable. Maybe a portable dock/stand with a switch for the SX Pro? it could be a USB switch and you plug the SX in to it and it stays protected? Or at least a place to put it like your original idea. Maybe some way to have it attach to the switch to be a portable 1 piece solution. Could have other things in it too. Power bank, AC adapter, Raspberry Pi for serving payloads?(non SX Pro version) Maybe speakers. What would make a good portable device?
