Not quite.
SX does something different. It mimics a cartridge in the cartridge slot, while sigpatching is disabling signature checks to allow for any kind of software to be installed, regardless of legitimacy.
you must be wrong. How can you strip header info and trim the rom files and still run them, and how can you both install and run devmenu on a retail unit if there are no sigpatches?

EDIT: oh, ok. devmenu is run via layeredfs. more like getting around sigchecks than patching them out, I guess.

Gotcha, but a backup is XCI and the file format required to be installed in devmenu is .nsp, therefore the correct answer would've been no, wouldn't it?
You can do both in the same time.
XCI is a cartridge dump, so to run it you need to emulate it as a cartridge.
NSP is a eshop dump, to use them you need to install them with devmenu and HAVE sigpatches (SX OS only for now) then you can run them from menu.

Alright, thanks so I'm guessing in Rei's CFW's case there is no current known plan to run XCI backups is what I was originally asking.

How am I wrong? I didn't even mention anything about either of them being exclusive to each other,
The user asked if it was something similar to OS SX.
All I said is that Team Xecuter did something different so that the XCIs are recognized as an actual cartridge in the slot, while signature patching refers to the installation of files.

misunderstanding. I'm probably wrong, but I don't think sx is *just doing the emulation. There is most likely sigpatches involved as well.

Sorry for sound stupid. But who is this ping long ? Or it’s just another segmented inside joke ?
Someone who "hijacked" SimonMKWii's Discord and told people to stop cracking SX OS in bad English.
(Please be gentle mods, I'm just answering an honest question)

i'm sitting on a new packer, but i can't figure out why the crc values from the unpacker doesn't match with the unpacked files.

Hmm... I wonder? Everyone is working hard on trying to crack the license.dat file so everyone has access to the firmware, but is there a way anyone can go into(with a working license and CFW) and gather the source code they used for everything passed the free version(include the free stuff too), take out the license requesting feature(and the brick code if there is any), and compile there own custom firmware off that? Yes it may be stealing, but you're just stealing something that was stolen already.

Apparently ReiNX is going to include the signature patches from SX OS, so we can install NSPs

Are you that type of kids who tells I’ll ddos you and burn your router

No I was trying to ask a question. I'm new to decrypting files and I don't know a lot about it, so I was trying to make my post as simple as possible.

Sweet! Can't wait!

Does this mean any type of software could potentially be installed...far out of reach I'm just speculating but maybe Netflix? Internet browser?

If someone ports it, it can be launched from an nsp. ReiNX is also working on an installable DevMenu for ease of use.

So what kind of tools would you use to port it into an nsp...no I'm not dumb I know how that sounds, I'm saying if I ported say google chrome or some internet browser and changed the code to C/C++, how would I go about compiling that into a .nsp file?
