Again, it *does* render your hardware useless because it will no longer boot. We don't know *IF* it is reversible (i.e. how the password for locking is created) and if it is how cooperative TX will be or how long they will be around.
It is reversible. Hek fixed his system.

Not for a regular user though.
You seem to have a comprehension problem. Let me say this once again. If you know how to run a simple RCM payload you can reverse this. period. This is exactly what hexkyz did:
There is nothing technical about doing this. You drag a payload into TegraRCMSmash and you are done. It's fixed. It's really simple.

Now you proved yourself to be dumb

We are unaware of the extent it takes to fix this, and whether or not an end user is capable of doing so. Either way, you're more likely to die from a vending machine than bricking your system through TX. Unless you mess with something you shouldn't. It's NOT the end of the world like some of you act like.

I stand corrected.

Also, has anyone else noticed how the "fanboys" (very loosely used it seems) seem to have a more level headed response to the situation? Weird...

Comprehension problem? What? There's nothing to not understand here. As far as I understand it, it's not something a regular user can fix it.
Edit: And if it really is as easy as you say, I'll have to take your word for it and wait and see.

By your logic, a regular user shouldn't be modding their system..

yeah but something something i hate gw because i came into the scene when bs9 was around so i never had to pay for hacks, something something brick code, something something i want to save $45 so i'm stuck with layeredfs and drag and drop rom are overrated anyway, something something i heard this guy in gym class sneezed and his switch got bricked and now he's grounded and tx won't reply to his emails

Also, completely forgot to say but my problem is not the probability of a brick, rather that it's even in the code.

Source? All domain registration lookups are masked due to GDPR and it seems strange that they would use an [at]gateway[dot]com email address for thigns not related to gateway in any way.
sadly i can't find the post.. it was in the countless threads about the team\dongle
sadly this GDPR ruined this kind of research :C

and you have proven yourself not to speak your own language very well, I guess. Hexkyz was able to reverse it, but he still needed a RAW NAND of the proper version. And even then I am fairly certain he needed to do some work to it.

Note though: I am done with you. Don't expect me to respond to anything you ever have to say.

True. It might be very easy to fix or it might be very hard. We don't know the extent.

My argument is also not how likely it is to happen, I am pretty sure that TX has tested the code a lot. My issue is that the code exists in the first place. I just don't like such practices and if I were to make a purchase decission now this would certainly make me refrain from supporting TX financially.

Can you explain how we are "unaware of the extent"? Hexkyz has proven all it takes is a simple RCM payload to unlock and rebuild the eMMC.
