yet OP @Mrdx fails to mention hexkyz clearification about the brick adding more to the paranoia

How come PRAGMA never gets bricked when messing with the code

Until it starts backfired like Gateway I don't think most users care since only the crackers get bricked

Gateway=TX seem pretty realistic now

100k, damn.
So they made at least 2 million dollars even if they had to pay china taxes (which I highly doubt) and had production costs of 500 000 bucks. Wow!
Whoever said pirating would only interest a very small user base was clearly wrong!

Cause Pragma doesn't mess with the code.
He just copies other peoples shit and sends the occasional email to TX asking for help

I wasn't planning on getting an SX Pro since I'm not too keen on the idea of a custom firmware having DRM, but honestly, I'm not surprised there's code included that can brick consoles if you even attempt to tamper with. Really ironic, considering that many people are gonna use SX for piracy. Personally though, I hate when devs do aggressive shit like this. Like, don't ruin hardware just because you don't want end-users tampering with your own illicit software. This definitely reminds me the of Gateway drama all over again.

A bit off topic but The error 53 lawsuit was fixed by apple when they found what was the cause "Un authorized third party hardware for the touch id sensor". They offered an fix with no data loss and even reimbursed people that paid for repair or replacement.

Just a FYI
If TX written code to brick the console, don't they know how to un-brick (as even have a code just like Apple which gives little context about it to fix the issue) for valid purchases (as they have life time support) if it got triggered due to a mistake in their OS ?

I guess they would offer support.. but maybe you would have to send your Switch to China to get it fixed

Does anyone know if simply booting SXOS will password your NAND? I have booted the OS but not licensed it, wondering if that is enough to screw me

One question, does anybodys knows if the SXOS modifies the NAND in any way?? (I mean besides the AutoCRM).

Thank you!!

Nope was right off their site, nothing done to it.

So it only passwords your NAND if you tamper?
As stated by the one that tried to crack the loader he only got bricked because he was tampering it to crack it

If something is modified it should stay when you reboot, everything is worked only until reboot yo should be good :P
