All i need it to do is see the SD card which is 128Gb
Is there a way to upgrade the firmware to one that is known to be safe and supports a 128gb sdcard

You can install the SD Card drivers only following this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...tch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/

I think fat32 formatted cards should work without an update, but you can't have files bigger than 4gb then.

I mean, all these steps are just to lower your risk of getting banned and to be able to downgrade in the future. If you don't care about that you can just update normally until you are banned.

Did you install it using hekate? Do you shut the console down using hekate too? - Just interested to know.

I use the switchme chip. I have hekate installed and setup to autoboot SX OS. When you power off regularly, you wait like 10 seconds and hekate shuts it down all the way.

Cause every thread with boot troutbleshooting include autorcm. Some ppl like to risk tho.

100% user error. 99% of them are because they flattened the battery because they don't read instruction properly or they have no clue why they have a black screen when they turn on their switch. Not a problem with autorcm. It's a problem with people not reading instructions fully before doing something.

also when i press the album icon nothing happens? is this because its not reading the sdcard?

If you boot SX properly, you will see a red and black sx splash screen. Did you format the card to fat32? Post a picture of your sd card root folder.

Ive only ever seen a red/black splash screen after injecting the payload
After booting into custom firmware the background is white

Been using it for a while now. Not sure why you would think that.
I use AutoRCM, but I can see it being a royal pain in the arse for people who have to help solve other people's problems. Discord support channels and the like. So many people installing AutoRCM without knowing what it really does.

SX OS has many problems, but it did not brick your console.

Ok so after i format my 64gb sdcard to Fat32 now when i click album i get the license prompt
clearly it didnt like it when it was formated to exfat

So that is a major brick wall for me i need to be able to copy 4gb+ files

If i bought a 32gb sdcard would that solve the problem?

What brand is the card? Where did you buy it. A lot of people and up buying fake cards and have problems.

I have used sx os since release and have not encountered a single problem other than a few random crashes with the initial release.

OK so im at the stage where i have purchased the SXOS
It seems to work fine when i format to FAT32 but not when i format to EXFAT and thats on both my SDcards (Samsung/Toshiba) the OS prompts me that the card is not supported and i need to update firmware

So unless i update firmware or follow that very very scaring guide on how to inject the driver into the current firmware it looks like im stuck on FAT32

So the problem i have is i have alot of .NSP files that are larger than 4Gb i have managed to find a xci version from a torrent and use xci cutter but when i tried opening it it came up with an error

So i am well and truly stuck and Peed off tbh

I cant even tell what firmware im on !!!
every guide says
The current system menu version will be displayed under “System Update.”

But mine just says update is available so i dont even know what firmware im on

So my final thoughts are to let it do a firmware update
What would be the harm? SXOS says it supports any firmware
