Hello,

I am looking at a V1 Unpatched switch that when I had first gotten auto booted into hekate. When I say auto booted, I mean no RCM loader neeeded, no pc connection needed. Naturally, you would say has a modchip, then, right? Me too.

Sysnand was broken on this switch. But then I used an awesome tool here to fix that: https://github.com/rajkosto/gptrestore

After the restoration, I required an rcm loader or a connection to pc w/ tegraexplorer. Naturally, you would then say it doesn't have a modchip then, right?

I'm trying to see what type of magic allowed hekate to boot in the first place without a pc connection, rcm loader in the first place if there really was no modchip.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

Thanks.

I

Right. My question is that if there is no modchip (which I am 85% sure on because there's no LED on the back as well), how that could have happened.

Probably autoRCM + autoboot was setup, but it still needed something to inject hekate to run autoboot off it.

I'm guessing you mean autoRCM (autoboot), unless I'm missing something else. Setting up autoRCM just allows you not have to do the jig as far as I'm aware.

Hoping someone else has had this experience before.

Inside hekate there is option to autoboot a payload on the SD card.

Do you mean it was off when you got it, and pressing power made it boot into hekate? Because only a modchip can do that, there's no untethered coldboot

Are you talking about auto rcm still? If not, where is this?

No. I mean it was off when I got it, and I rebooted and booted a TON of times into hekate withot rcm loading externally.

This is what I would say, too, but what I'm still seeing is contradicting. Maybe I can open up the switch for you guys later, but still very convinced there's no chip.

No I am talking about autoboot options inside Hekate, based on the info you provided sound like it has a modchip.

Yep, sorry guys. There is a modchip there. I haven't seen somebody be able to fit one underneath the shield of a v1 switch, but it was done - why I couldn't see any LEDs.

Sounds like I need to try the autoboot option mentioned in hekate.

Thanks,
