But what if a factory worker have licked them to make sure they work?!

That's a good question?

OP how do you feel knowing you could have gotten herpes from any of the new games you purchased? Not just used ones. OP should probably sell his switch now, it's too nasty to play with anymore.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I didn't really see it that way, but i suppose you are correct.

@g00s3y I am 30. No idea where you even got that from. Your attitude alone is more toxic than anything Nintendo puts on their game.

Awesome, i'm 32. I got that from a supposed grown man complaining about the *possibility* of a game cartridge having bacteria on it. Do you know anything about how much bacteria is on everything around you that you can't see?

Like i said. Toxic. Act your age.

Oh my, this is just too good to miss! I love licking my Nintendo Switch cartridges, in fact I make sure when I get a new physical release through the post box I tare the wrapper off and the first thing I do is pull the cartridge out of the box and give it a good lick! actually sometimes it tastes different, you might get a strawberry lick or maybe a Marmite lick, if your unlucky that is, you just never know what taste your going to get on the day! Soon as Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle comes through the post box I'm going to do something different this time around and maybe instead of licking it I'm going to wipe it thoroughly up and down the crack of my arse just for second hand purposes!

Nintendo may actually have found a way to hamper the used games market on the switch, when you think about it.

Considering that Nintendo made the Switch cartridges really bitter to prevent children (and GBAtemp-users) from swallowing it you can be almost guaranteed to get a game which has been licked by at least one person.

Yesterday i bought two Switch games used (Zelda and 1-2 Switch) and it took me quite a while to actually get over my disgust, before ordering them.

How do you feel about buying games used, knowing that someone somewhere has probably licked them at least once?
That's not what I care about used Switch games but it is gross, the reason I dislike used Switch games is because there's a very likely change the original owner redeemed the gold coins so you can't get them.

Yup. Cuz the rewards are amazing right now and the coins last forever.

I jest, don't hurt me.

Most of the games and consoles I own are pre-owned, and this has always been the case. I don't have a disgust barrier, I just have good hygiene and clean my games and accessories when it's required. I think that worrying about such stuff is a symptom of germophobia or hypochondria - if you think about it, every table at McDonald's probably has urine on it since customers don't necessarily wash their hands thoroughly after using the bathroom and there's only so much wiping the staff can handle. When you buy pre-owned goods, clean them with a cloth and some alcohol - it's not a big deal. If there's some "gamer crust" in the nooks and crannies of a controller, just grab a toothbrush and a plastic card - I have some dedicated specifically for that purpose. All of my games and gear are spotless, it's really not that hard.

I flip stuff I find at thrift stores for extra money. There are a ton of used electronics which are gross, but that's what Lysol wipes are for (kills 99.9% of bacteria).

And yes, I admit, I licked a Switch cart before. It is extremely gross. :P

You can only redeem the coins once.
No that's not quite correct. Your coins are connected to your account, not the actual game so if it sees you have already redeemed that game, it wont let you but if you have never redeemed that game on your account ever, you can. So for example, if the game is bought second hand and you have never redeemed the game before on account, it will let you, whether the person before who owned it has redeemed the coins or not, its irrelevant to the new owner!
