Update: It appears to be a hardware issue. It's not physically making the connection properly.
Update 2: It's working normally as of now. It went from not connecting at all, to being finicky, to working reliably. I have no explanation for this, but I'm glad that it's working.
I wasn't sure if this belonged on this forum or the hardware forum as I'm not sure if it's cfw/exploit related or if it's a hardware problem.
My Switch doesn't not react when I put it in the dock. If it is in sleep mode, placing in the dock does not wake it up. If the tablet screen is already on, it does not turn black (as it normally would because the display is going out to the TV). It does not even charge in the dock. It will charge fine when in handheld mode and USB-C OTG also works fine. The dock will sometime blink once whenever I dock the system or remove it. There is nothing that should have caused physical damage to the dock or screen.
The reason I think it maybe cfw related is that it happened soon after I updated and downgraded my emunand firmware (I meant to update sysnand, but updated emunand instead so I had to downgrade emunand back), and also updated sysnand (using daybreak). Original post here. The weird thing is that I played Splatoon on the TV after I updated and it worked fine. After that, it wouldn't dock (in emunand or sysnand). I feel like the issue is probably related to the update and/or downgrade (or the use of SX OS/Atmosephere/Choi/Daybreak). Does anybody have any ideas what could be going on before I break out the multi-meter and take the Switch apart?
