Chips on power starts with blue = (pause) yellow ** (pause) yellow ** (pause) yellow * by which time screen is displaying OFW splash. 2nd install, first one went smooth. 1 hwfly from Amazon and 1 from eBay... not sure which chip is in which console. I believe these are clones and have write protection after initial UF2. I've tried removing chip and USB to PC with no detection but LED does the same thing. Lite sill boots OFW perfectly fine. Should I initialize system too?

PS I have yet to check diodes, but I check them across the points on the chip near the ribbon connector?

If by "**" you mean that you're seeing 2 short LED blinks, that is your RST point not connected (B point). I would definitely recheck all the diode readings for your solder points, specifically "B"

Yes short LED blink, I did read that somewhere... I'll redo 'B' point then, I just wanted confirmation since there's so much input floating around the interwebs. Mahalo 🤙🏽

Put a multimeter to RST (B) and sure enough, wasn't getting anything. Case closed, it boots to "boot.dat" now! Mahalo again for confirming ** is RST! 🤙🏽

Came back to the Lite after I successfully set CFW up with a cart install and play test time. Today to do more endurance testing, and I get yellow LED =** (pause) =** (pause) =**

Put a multimeter on B (RST) and I get nothing, all other points read in the 7's, and I desoldered to view pad and test at pad... pad looks good but I got no reading! No boot either prior to desolder, is there an alternative RST point?
