he asked if he could go legit again after having done some stuff, we only assessed exactly what he done

And Emunand is the answer b/c that it's purpose. He can go legit on his sysnand while doing the hacks on a separate nand(emunand) its called differently on Atmosphere EmuMCC its to help the user keep his/her sysnand clean for legit play.

Im not arguing I just don't scare ppl with the unknown, you... we don't know how Nintendo does things. I dirtied my nand too, but whats the harm in protecting the nand for future usage? If hes going to be offline just b/c he booted up a payload then he basically banned himself out of fear.

Stop spreading the bullshit if you don't know. Booting to hekate doesn't change anything about your Switch.

Eitherway hes fine its a just payload chill lol not that serious. I'm banned from online smash using someone else's save file, but still have access to eshop & other games online

No, I haven't been online since the day before I hacked my Switch. I've been on airplane mode this whole time because I don't want to take any risks.

your console will only get banned if you are caught running unsigned code and roms.

remove all unsigned code, boot legit firmware and game carts and your good to go.

in that situation, if you did a full nand backup before doign anything hack (rawnand+ boot0+1) then restore it

then if you want to hack it correctly and minimizing the risk of ban at the lowest level follow this guide

it will make you setup an emunand (a copy of the system nand on your sd card)
the idea will be to have your sysnand clean and untouched that will be able to be online, and the emunand, that will be kept offline (or have incognito used to blank ID infos, and use 90dns) where you will do the hackery

so once the nand backup is restored, be sure to have removed wifi configuration and be in airplane mode in sysnand before doing anything so the emunand never connect online at any point (i would also advise to set light/dark mode on the emunand to be different than sysnand to know easily where you are)

I’ve read of people getting banned after nand restore, I’ve read of people really screwing up their switch (can you say brick?) trying to “clean” it to avoid ban. I say just delete the files off your SD card and forget about it. Chances are very high you won’t get banned.

Personally I used SXOS from day one for homebrew (no pirated games); then when emunand became available I deleted everything and started over using the emunand CFW for all my unsanctioned fun and OFW for online play etc.

No ban.

This sounds pretty risky, and I'm not familar enough with the Switch hacking scene to agree nor disagree, but it seems pretty 50/50 (unless someone says otherwise). However, you say you haven't installed any NSPs (what about cheats? Hacks? Mods?) so I believe this may be the reason you haven't been banned? I suppose even if I were to get banned, I wouldn't lose too much.

It looks like a new problem has arisen. I tried multiple times to join the backup files together using the joiner code and it seems to work for a bit. After combining about 15 GB, the process stops and the file it created deletes itself. It's definitely not me running out of storage, because I made sure I had enough space before starting the join process (100+ GB). Any ideas?

Hi all.

I recently "hacked" my Switch. I started having second thoughts after a little bit and I had a quick question. The farthest I got was injecting a payload into the Switch to boot to hekate. Is it safe for me to just delete the files that were there before the hack? Or do I need to restore a NAND?

Extra Notes:
- I didn't attempt to play any games in the "hacked" state. I simply booted to hekate.
- I didn't install any unofficial apps, games, or anything of the like.

I've been thinking of trying to restore and rehack in order to play pokemon online but the water is so muddy now after numerous cfw updates and sysnand/emunand boots that I don't know where to start!!

In fact, I can't even play physical copies after the latest cfw update!

I don't think there are any easy answers for you.

Personally, for me this is what I do and haven't "yet" been banned "though I assume at some point I might".

I use my hackable switch to boot into legit firmware and download my purchased games from the Nintendo shop. I then go into airplane mode and reboot into custom firmware to play my legit games while using the cheat feature to run whatever cheats I want for the game then save the game with the cheats I want applied to it. Then reboot into stock firmware, go back online and let the cloud save feature upload my modded save file. Then I load my pure stock patched switch which I use for me every day gamming and download my save file from my modded Switch.

So far I haven't gotten a ban "though I assume the full risk if I do end up banned".

So in short, you may or may not get banned, but life is short, enjoy your console and what will be, will be.
