Double system memory than the retail console, wasn't there a leak of devkit specs a while back that said there was devkits with double RAM and system memory?
Foxconn. I have a thread dedicated to that and dev unit seems to carry a gtx 1060 in the dock. Nvidia had a down-clocked gtx 1080 hitting 5 TF at 50w.

Could this mean the Switch won't actually be region free, but they'll sell the same model worldwide?

What difference?
The thing is hardware variation should no longer be a problem. Power supply (especially usb ones) can scale across 110/ 60 and 220/ 50, and the rest of the parts are standards that are shared all across the world. It would also use more resource to manufacture two models with minor differences.

That's how it is region free.... Same console worldwide. They determine your consoles region by your home country in your NNID as they've already stated. You can have up to 8 accounts on the Switch, all with different home regions to play different region games and connect to different region eShops.
