Presumably that @V-Temp assumes they're working on a GameCube emulator

I have some misgivings about that, actually. See, before the Genesis collection on Steam was released, Sega approached Libretro to see if they could use their source code for the Genesis emulation. Libretro refused their request, but I fear Nintendo will try to do the same to Dolphin, ruining it and filing a DMCA claim, shutting it down. Nintendo/NERD should just write their own damn emulator.

Haven't they been doing that already? (Not anything as complex as GameCube, but DS, GBA, NES, SNES, etc)

I don't know, maybe, but I know Nintendo has borrowed source code from emulators before. Like Mega Man X2 and X3 on the Wii? Byuu stated they lifted Cx4 chip code to use in their own emulators. I dunno what to think.

Can you give a link so that I can look into the specifics of the situation?

I dunno if its just lego worlds, but after updating my switch seems to crash a lot.

Probably just lego thinking about it....

Edit: 3 crashes in 1 hr... coincidence?

I'm pretty sure that can't happen. AFAIK emulators are not illegal as long as they don't contain actual code from Nintendo (like a BIOS, System Menu, etc). Stealing code from Dolphin to use in their own emulator and then trying to sue Dolphin for copyright infringement would be the second most insanely stupid thing ever (right after the AtariBox), since Dolphin has a GitHub Repo where everyone could see that Dolphin's code is older then than Nintys GC emulator.
