Hello,

Have a little question to know where i can find one tuto to start with a switch on firmware 2.30.

Step by step guide please because few months before nothing did work with the site https://switch.homebrew.guide.
So after i can use choix du jour to upgrade and use the latest firmware that is possible for CFW.

Thanks already!

Regards,

Chris!

So quickly receive an answer! wow. :-) Thanks a lot. Will try it soon.
Two important steps.

1) Take it slow, don't rush.
2) BACKUP YOUR NAND AND COPY IT TO YOUR COMPUTER, GOOGLE DRIVE, YOUR CATS USB DRIVE AND POSSIBILY THE SPACE STATION!

Thanks for the info again, will take my time. Is all many months that i try it so a few hours or days is not the end of the world. ;-)

Hello,

little question, i have little time to try the guide now.
But here i'm little confused :

Before setting up the console for homebrew, it is important to have at least one eShop game (such as Onigiri), application (such as YouTube or Hulu), or a game demo such as 10 Second Run RETURNS. Running homebrew through any game cartridge will also work, but it must be inserted. Running homebrew does not permanently replace or remove the game/application, nor does it become tied to only one game/application (any cartridge you have inserted or any game/application installed can always be used). Once you have any game or application, you are prepared to continue on with the guide.

I can't install any game or app from the eshop because need to update the switch.
Is it safe to do it? You know i'm still on a very low firmware.

Thanks!

Create a Emunand for cfw
https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/set-up-emummc-emunand-on-nitendo-switch.html

Use this for Phase 3 in emunand guide
download the following zip and copy contents of sd folder to sd card
https://sdsetup.com/console?switch#...eba;reboot_to_rcm;tegrarcmgui;atmos_sigpatch;

you going to manually download latest atmos and hekate and overwrite the old files as the sdsetup site is little out of date
https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases
https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases

Backing up your NAND and BIS keys
By backing up your NAND (the Switch’s internal memory), you will later be able to restore it in the event that anything goes wrong, essentially rewinding it back to a previous state. BIS keys are also good to backup so you can reinstall any firmware version manually should your NAND backup become corrupted or lost.

  1. Enter RCM but this time send the Hekate payload provided in the SDSetup download to your Switch (refer to Section 1: Accessing RCM if you’ve forgotten how)

  2. In Hekate, select ‘Tools > Backup eMMC > eMMC BOOT0 & BOOT1’

  3. When finished, remove your SD card (you don’t need to shutdown Hekate), insert it into your PC, and copy the ‘backup’ folder to a safe location on your PC. Afterwards, delete the ‘backup’ folder on your SD card.

  4. Insert your SD card back into your Switch

  5. In Hekate, select ‘eMMC RAW GPP’
    • If your SD card has less than ~32GB free space, Hekate will provide additional instructions every few minutes about pulling files off of your SD card so it can continue.
  6. If you weren’t required to copy files during the backup process, once again copy the ‘backup’ folder off of your SD card and put it in a safe location on your PC. Delete the ‘backup’ folder on your SD card.

  7. Close the Backup menu, go back to the Home tab and tap ‘Reboot > RCM’

  8. Send the “Lockpick_RCM.bin” payload provided in the SDSetup download to your Switch (if you do not have this payload, you can obtain it from GitHub.

  9. Press the power button to shutdown once finished.

  10. Insert your SD card into your PC.

  11. Copy the /switch/prod.keys file to a safe location.

then follow this guide
https://switch.homebrew.guide/hacking/nereba/pegascape

Grab Keys needed for somethings and you need to redo this everyt firmware
https://gbatemp.net/threads/lockpick_rcm-payload-official-thread.532916/

How to update the firmware next time but always wait for the cfw to be updated
https://switch.homebrew.guide/usingcfw/manualupgrade

Incodnito zero your serial as extra protection (ONLY USE IN EMUNAND)

most important thing is to make a backup before you do anything. this thing saying you need to install an app first is a myth and unconfirmed

Thanks for the reply. But for me is not so clear.

So much steps to do and don't know where to start. Is it not possible to use a step by step guide for the Switch? If this can help I have ns atmosphere dongle.

You need at least a 64gb card.

If you plan on loading several games on your SD, I'd go as far and say get at least a 256gb or even a 400gb card. They are usually cheaper than a new Game and you can play anything you want with them anyway.

Ok, i have a sd card of 64 gb now but when i open minitool partition wizard it gave me bad disk.
What can be the problem?

Where did you get the SD from and what brand is it? As with anything, sometimes you can just get a bad product. But maybe you have a faulty card reader..

Why did you only get a 64gb card? What are you planning to do with your modded Switch?

Hi, this problem is solved now. Thanks for the help. Later maybe will need meore help when i continue.
Did buy one of 64 gb now only to try after will buy a larger one.

That's good to hear ;)

It's always nice to know what the problem was though and how you were able to solve it!
