By the way - has anyone got a 'letter' that can only be opened on a certain day ??
I've just got one - (along with a couple of normal 'Letters' - wish I could draw like some of you do)

The wiki has one mistake that i have found - Akothegreat and yonex204 have the same Friend Code
Akothegreat's is correct
yonex204's is 0817-3845-3121

I just added/made sure I had everyone from the wiki
(exhausted)
It appears that tlyee61's number is incorrect - the 3DS comes back with a "The friend code you entered is not valid" message
other than that the wiki is fine

You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version?
