They actually did that in order to avoid accidents, imagine your battery dies while you're downloading something or adding credits to your eshop account, if the 3DS died halfway you'd partially blame Nintendo and stuff...

i think the more notes you send, more things unlock

Yeah, you need to send several notes and try out all the stuff she tells you... She tells you to try out 3D, you try drawing 3d, she tells you try adding a pic, you add and send one with a pic, she tells you to try new layouts, you try the new layouts, etc...
Just do all she tells you and send as many letters as u can.

This thing is lots of fun, been playing with it since 12:00, also been playing with Swapnote since 12:00. Sending messages to my friend... appropriate messages of course.
