I used svdt to backup a Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers save and I ended with a .txt file (that I've attached to this post). For a couple years now, I've been using the R4i Save Dongle to backup saves from and to my 3DS without issue. However, the saves are in .sav format and despite my best efforts, I am not able to restore a save from a couple years back to the game using the Save Dongle. Every time I try to, the game just prompts me to begin a new campaign. :(

Is there any way to convert the .sav to .txt or just extract the necessary save file info? I'm super lost over here, any info would be most appreciated.

anyone having a problem with zelda,

it seems as if that the greatest and latest version of the 3ds has broken svdt (version 11.0.0 running on n3ds) and zelda game I'm referring is ocarina

so it auto updates ?? i remember it being able to copy and save and inject a save file of a game. i was notcing the fact that there was a acnl save data ike i added it already when i know i didnt. dont remember it doing that last i played with it.

iirc, svdt automatically makes a save backup of whatever target game you select (Although I'm forgetting where exactly it saves to)

"At startup, svdt will automatically back up save data to a time-stamped folder in sd:/svdt/. You cannot skip this unless you put a non-empty file named 'disable_auto_backups' in the same directory as the executable." << what does it mean by a non-empty file?? do i just put the words disable_auto_backups into the file and save it?? and do i do this with the notepad in my laptop??

Make a text document, name it "disable_auto_backups" remove the .txt part from it, and put it in /3ds/svdt/

remove the .txt?? this is kinda confusing.
Enable file name extensions (its under view in windows 10, you will have to google how to change it for older windows versions, or another OS), and change the name of the txt from "New Text Document.txt" to "disable_auto_backups".
