if you can use savadatafiler, i recommend to use that instead of svdt/tdvs. more functionality, extdata support i think too.
unless anyone wants to tell me why the homebrew is better? sure, it's nice that's not stolen/illegal etc etc lol, but i want the best tool for the job.
easier to use maybe?

Finally managed to save transfer, thanks for the help @ihaveamac

I heard savedatafiler does not work well with retail carts of 6.x encryption,
and like I have finished mentioning it worked for me.

I'm trying to backup my game via HBLauncher in emunand, but every time I choose the game cart, the app's freezing *lower screen stuck in yellow*

what firmware and game are you trying to use it on?

My emunand is 9.5 *n3ds* and 10.3 *o3ds*, both freeze after selecting the cart...at first I thought my Sky3ds *loaded with Kirby Triple Deluxe* is the problem, so I change to my Samurai Warrior Chronicles cart, but still got the same result...

Nope... Still froze

Is there an alternative to backup and restore? Save_manager have the same result by the way...

I'm trying to bring my save file from sky3ds to cia...

well if you just want to move the save file over, you might be able to use Nintendo's "Save Data Transfer Tool", which moves game saves from physical game cards to digital versions.

One can be that, using savedatafiler, the card1 saves are somewhat "hard" to extract and inject.. I never managed to inject my card1 saves using that lol..

I have an issue here...
I'm trying to transfer a save from a retail cart to a digital game, the game in question is Super Smash Bros, the thing is that every time i transfer it to the digital version, when i load the game says that the data is old and that new data has to be created in order to play, i know that smash is a game that svdt has issues with, but i want to know if doing this is possible at all?

BTW im trying to do this on a n3ds 9.5 emunand with a retail cart to a .cia file i installed in the emunand on rxtools.

Thanks in advance! (Sorry if you have problems understanding this issue, english is not my first language )

Oh okay then, probably use savedatafiler?

Just got around to trying this. Installed it to my EmuNAND and tried to back up 076D, which I believe is TLoZ: Minish Cap based on http://www.3dsdb.com/. It showed as "Broken" within SaveDataFiler and when I checked my SD card, I couldn't find anything that looked like a Save Data Dump, so I'm not sure if it worked at all.

If it is saying "CTR BROKEN", then you should read and follow this:- Click Cheers!

@KJ1 That seems to be specifically for eShop/.CIA to .3DS/.3DZ and vice-versa. This would need to work for eShop/.CIA to eShop/.CIA since I'd just be moving it between NANDs. Just need to decrypt it and import it into SysNAND since it is stuck on EmuNAND.

It would work from cia to cia, just extract your "cia" save (see how to extract from cia) and inject to "cia" (see how to inject to cia), it should work?

Hi guys can u please explain me how to add a completed save game of oot3d downloaded from file trip in .sav format? From the cartridge they're in .bin format and obviously renaming it doesn't work, making svdt crash

So I have been looking and don't have a clear answer to a question I have. How can I go about copying data from a Cartridge to a "digital copy" of my game?

I have a Cartridge version of Omega Ruby, and I want to transfer my save to my digital version.

I would just use the official Save Data Transfer Tool, but I cannot access eshop.
