Right, so I finally got my Xbox working with EvolutionX as my dashboard. Yay!

Problem is, I can't FTP to my Xbox yet (not got the right cable) and I heard you can run Surreal64 and roms off a disc.

So I made an xISO using QWIX, burned it to a CD-RW that works perfectly. But for some reason, it won't run on my Xbox...

Can anyone help me out?

I don't think the xbox can read cd games, only dvd games... at least not that I've seen...

as for DVD playback, ditch EvolutionX and get XBMC... it's freakin sweet, and has the correct files for dvd playback, even without the remote thing (standard controller is all you need!)

Yeah, I've heard that's pretty good ^^ Had problems installing it the first time, but I'll give it another go hopefully

get AID 4.21 (or what ever the newest version is, lol)

just be VERY careful... before you do anything, make sure you backup your EEPROM, and your original MS Dashboard... you'll need them!

I'm trying but whenever I try to boot the CD, it, uh, doesn't. It goes to the EvoX dashboard and in the top right corner says "No Disc".

Using Memorex CD-RWs (same I used to install evoX)

the xbox doesnt read CD's very well as its primarily a dvd reading drive, but if its not reading DVD movies with the playback kit that could be a laser issue, have you tried launching a DVD movie from the original Xbox dash with the DVD playback kit?
