how can you guys even tell what speed the SD cards are (60x,80x...)? the only info i see is stuff like

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820171126

write - 9 MB/sec
read - 10 MB/sec

That would be a 60X card, as normal microSD and miniSD cards preform at 12X or 1.8MB/sec. My ATP ProMax miniSD is 150X which is 22MB/sec. The better the speed the less slowdown you'll have. ATP is the best but they only offer 512MB microSD's at this point.

Stick with a 80X or higher rated microSD card! With even 60X there WILL be slowdown! Man I really thought the SuperCard team would have come through this time with better GBA, faster DS speed without high speed memory. I'll be sticking with DS Phat, SuperCard miniSD, PassCard3, and ATP ProMax 150X 2GB miniSD! I have no slowdown in Animal Crossing or in Tony Hawk, and my Castlevania test is flawless with perfect video and audio. Buy if you own a DSL and need a flush fitting solution then the SuperCard Lite is the way to go as its a Lite version of the SuperCard miniSD.

Well, then. I think I'll sell my SC miniSD to my friend and buy a G6 lite.

but how can i tell what the speed of the card is?

like..how did you come up with 60x for the card i was talking about?

It goes by how many MB/sec the read/write speed is. IE You said write is 9 MB/sec & read is 10 MB/sec so since the standard for microSD transfer is 12X or 1.8MB/sec we get that 9MB/sec = 60X and 10MB/sec = 66X. But since flash memory only goes by the write speed its called a 60X microSD. The biggest microSD out now is 1GB and the fastest is 80X which is 12MB/sec. Other SD/miniSD cards go up to 4GB and a transfer rate of 150X so microSD has a long way to go. I am sticking with my miniSD for now until microSD comes along.

Who is selling this card? I'd like to see who offers it for the cheapest.

I don't know how many of you are following things over at scdev.org, but there's a new patcher specifically for the microSD, and its a major improvement. Only available from the chinese download site, but I think theyre mirroring it at scdev now. You'll need a SCLite to use it though ... so far it d/n work with other versions of SC.

You don't need an 80x card, regular has a bit of slowdown but 60x should be fine.

Sneef over at SCDEV.org said that even with a regular sandisk micro sd using the new patcher offers better performance than his wive's sc mini sd with 150x card

I should be getting a sd lite from supercardstore and I have a sandisk ultra II micro sd which is around x60 speed.

What sort of games do people usually have slowdowns with as I will test them tomorrow and report back.

Tony hawk (especially the music), Castlevania Intro, Animal crossing

And I really recommend Supercardstore, they answer your mails very quickly, I also ordered from them.

Sorry bud that was a 66X miniSD his wife had. So yes there has always been some slowdown with a 66X miniSD on the SuperCard miniSD. With 150X you have no slowdown what-so-ever on the SuperCard miniSD.

As for slowdown here are the games and points to look out for:

Animal Crossing, Tony Hawk, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Pinball and other graphically intensive games. In the begining of Animal Crossing once it says to press start and you do you'll notice how it puts out the letters very slow and the background 3d kinda slows down a bit. Also when coming out of any building hold the direction pad and press run and you'll notice a pause. Other games have the problem as in Tony Hawk there is choppy framerates with music playing and in Metroid Prime Hunters free look to fast will make the framerate chug a bit. Unless you're using media 60X or higher you WILL have these problems.
