How about links to threads about the program, if there is one? Because some of them are really hard to figure out how to use.

Hang on......

Not only do you want us to make the Icon/ini for the plugins,
AND
Find links to the programs
AND
Test them out to see if they actually work on a DSL/DSi
gba.gif

And NOW

you also want us to search through forums (not just GBATemp) to see if a post/guide/thread actually exist, on how to use them ??

Some of us do have a life you know

BTW - there is such a thing as Google, plus GBATemp does have it's own Search box....
& IF you use Firefox, I even made a Google/GBATemp seach engine that can also be used (find it @ http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=gbatemp - just click on 'GBATemp' link to add it to Firefox), which I used & found this pokesav thread straight away

Well, just incase you guys had the link handy. Like, if someone made a thread about it, and was like "hey, I'll add it to the plug in wiki" they'd have a link to their thread extremely handy....

Sorry if I sounded rude.

Wiki, with apps/emus/games on different pages, sorted alphabetically.

+1, sounds like a logical setup (maybe all categories on one page for easy viewing, though)

yes, all on the same page

You should make that into a chrome extension, just sayin'

In fact with Chrome you may already HAVE it set up... If I'm reading this article right, 'Chrome automatically adds search engines to the list after you search from a site'

But for those who'd like it
  • Start up Chrome
  • Right click on the address bar
  • Click on 'Edit Search Engines'
  • Click on [Add]
  • Now type in the following EXACTLY for each boxCODEName: GBATemp
    Keyword: gbatemp
    URL: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&q=%s+site%3Agbatemp.net&fp=1&cad=b

  • If everything is typed in right you should get a green tick on the right of each box
  • Click [OK], then [Close]
Now to search for anything on GBAtemp - just type into the address bar 'gbatemp searchterm' - where searchterm is what you want to look for
IF you don't like typing in 'gbatemp' - just change the 'Keyword:' to whatever you do like

EDIT #1:Back On Topic...........
DSTwo Wiki page(s) have now got all plugin/links etc as shown on first post (as of 31-08-10)
I STILL haven't figured out how to do templates/edit or 'external thumbnails' etc, BUT I have figured out how to add a Sort function per table.

IF anyone need to add/alter any entries here's what you need to do
  • Visit the DS2_plugin Wiki Page
  • Click on the 'edit' option RIGHT AT THE TOP of the page - between 'Discussion' & 'History' (do not use the [edit] on each section)
  • Scroll down to the bottom of this page & you should see 'Templates used on this page'
  • Click on the one you want to alter
  • Click on the 'edit' at the top of the page
Now look @ the lines to see how I've done the tables layout, & add your lines the same way as I have
Once edited use the [Show Preview] button to check it looks OK, then click the [Save page] to save it

EDIT #2: Oh & alidsl - I know you're still working on first post - but my name should be against 'DScratch' not Vatoloco, & I guess you still not got round to changing lmp-ng (or adding) my 'lmp-ng (complete)' plugin yet

EDIT #3: OK I THINK I now have every plugin added from first post & from the list on post #448.
Not sure if some of the plugins should really be under 'Utilities' or 'Multimedia' (or whatever) - but I'm sure some1 will tell me otherwise (e.g ZogNC - should that be under Emulator or Utilities ?? - & yes I know it's currently under 'Multimedia)
(Personnally - I think we should 'split' Multimedia up to 'Sound' and 'Vision' sections - but I'm not sure)

Seems like I've also completed the wiki page now (thanks to tj_cool for help on templates etc)

I've checked the plugins against alidsl first post & they seem to match up,
although I've done some 'creative licencing' & placed the 'Homebrew launchers' under 'Utilities' & 'split' the Multimedia section up into smaller 'Audio','Video','Text Readers/Writers' and 'Graphical'.....

...Check it out & let me know what you all think. AFAIK - we're both up-to-date

pretty neat
biggrin.gif
looks up to date, don't we all love the wiki
Good work Cannonfoddr, I'm thinking about splitting the Multimedia section but just into text readers/writers and multimedia

Good work, alidsl =D eetz nice having the OP all up-to-date, and thats a big ol' changelog.

Cannonfoddr, that was quick at getting the wiki article rockin'!
i took the liberty of adding some of the icon images to the wiki image repository, so they can be seen w/o having to click em =). i only did a few in the emulator section, so far, so you can check it out.
(i think its lookin slick, but you can always revert the changes if you no likey.)

^ nice idea - was thinking of adding the actual icons to the table, although the way you've done it has sort of mucked up the template being used....

I'll see if I've learnt enough to alter the template so that we have an extra column in the table for the actual icon

EDIT: Yep done it... (I think)

the Template per line now looks like
Code:
{{Plugin|pic=|name= |icon= |link= |program= |notes= }}
where
  • 'pic=' is the uploaded icon graphic onto Wiki e.g. StyxDS.jpg
  • 'name=' is the name - description of the plugin e.g. StyxDS - Atari Emulator
  • 'icon=' is the external weblink address to the picture
  • 'link=' is the web address to the plugin download e.g. http ://filetrip.net/f12419-DSTwo-StyxDS-Plugin-1-0.html
  • 'program=' is the web address to the Prgram download e.g. http ://filetrip.net/file.php?id=11407
  • 'notes=' is any additional notes to be added
So a full template line would look something like

{{Plugin|pic=StyxDS.jpg | name=StyxDS - Atari Emulator | icon=http://filetrip.net/i/styxDS.png | link=http://filetrip.net/f12419-DSTwo-StyxDS-Plugin-1-0.html | program=http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=11407 | notes=No problems Running }}

If you DON'T supply any of the '=' then it just doesn't get added, but it also doesn't screw up the table

ya, i see what you mean, it did make the rest look funky =|

(my wiki skills are self taught, so i dont know so much about proper wiki language)

somebody named kermit did some rearranging after i added em. i think itll look good (if you so choose) once the rest get added.

That's me !!!

- My username here on GBATemp USE to be 'kermitfrog', so I used it on the Wiki @ the same time. But although I changed it here, I never got round to asking it to be changed on the Wiki

And BTW - I'm self taught as well - the template was originally done by tj_cool

EDIT:
yay.gif
OK That's most of the external links changed to actual graphics on the Wiki - all that needs doing are the ones that haven't got a picture (linked or otherwise).
Guess they may take a little longer, as they've got to be downloaded, extracted & uploaded - & I REALLY should be doing some work on night shift
