Nintendo never listens to their fans anyway... Probably the only thing they listened to was to add a virtual SD card loader on the Wii(Menu 4.0)

But remember people, it's Sakurai and Hal Laboratory that makes the game. Nintendo add's their characters in though. Or I can probably be mistaking and its probably 50/50 with Sakurai and Nintendo who does the job...

I'd be happy with a port of either the original Super Smash Bros. or Melee that's in 3D.

Probably the blue weiner and his pellet gun. Meh...

Guys, Wavedashing wasn't intended by the developers.

The ability to wavedash was caused by a unique function in the Melee physics engine.

Because of this, wavedashing cannot be put in with out interefering with the physics engine of brawl and therefore will probably not be put in to a new game unless developers decide to create an entirely new physics engine

If you guys want wavedash so much just get the hack

I'm not going to post the link but a little googling goes a long way

This isnt true air dashing though just an airdodge mod hack

SSB on a portable console? Well that would be boring. SSB is meant for home consoles b/c it can have more players. Not everyone has 2 ds's and wi-fi.
JUS IMO is boring unless you have someone to play it with.
That's almost like saying Pokemon wouldn't do well because people didn't have more than one Game Boy.
Plus, that is what WiFi is for.

How can you compare the 2 games?
A great thing about the SSB series is that you had alot of fun when playing with friends. You were only limited by the number of controllers, not systems.

Btw are there any successful portable fighting games?

Look at psp for that to tell you the true... tekken, soul calibur, street fighter etc,

OK look at it this way, if SSB started on a portable, you would have the same fun as the SSB on the consoles.

Hmm how would the 3DS layout compare to the gamecube controller.
Slide pad would obviously work as the analogue stick.
Maybe left shoulder for grab/charge, right for shield or vice versa.
The letter buttons could be the same on both.
Taunts could just use some touch screen icons since they aren't exactly vital.
Only problems are that there would be no c-stick which I use mostly for smash attacks and the whole thing would take some getting used to.

how did I forget about the D-pad, the slide pad looks so awesome it's going to my head. Yeah I would use it for smash attacks. Why would you prefer touch screen for smashes, surely if you could use it for loads of different taunts instead of just 4

Hell, no, please, no.

Smash brothers series were made for consoles, not portables.

The only multiplayer option would be via Wireless or Wi-fi, and we know how good SSBB's online function is.

Single player gets boring soon.

Wait? wouldn't the d-pad be for the taunts? And touch screen icons for cheap smash attacks?

I would imagine the touch screen for taunts (if it really has to be used... *shudder*) as they aren't really a main part of combat, unless you're a super-star with Luigi.

wi-fi can be redone better for the portable one.

I'm sure you got friends to do wireless with.

/done with defending SSBPortable
