Gaming Super Mario Sunshine - Need help

Hey folks,
I am trying to finish Super Mario Sunshine and I am stuck, need help. I am playing the GameCube version of the game on a Nintendo WII. I already collected most of the shine sprites but the story seems to be stuck on a certain point which is not allowing me to enter the final stage of the game

You can see my current game state in the attached screenshot.


According to the walkthroughs, if I complete all Shadow Mario stages (7th episode of each map) the town should be flooded and I should be able to proceed to the Corona Mountain. As you can see on the screenshot above, I have completed episode 7 on all maps, the town is still not flooded and the mountain is closed.

What's strange is that Princess Peach is still still kidnapped; the toads are running around freaking out about it and they keep hinting that the princess is being held captive in Pinna Park. However, I have finished all the Pinna Park episodes and there was no sign of the princess there. I tried replaying the Shadow Mario episode there but nothing changed. What am I missing? Is it normal that the princess is at a "kidnapped" stage at the state of my game?

I'm kinda high and very tired but it appears you completely missed Sirena Beach. It's through a red pipe on top of a roof, you need Yoshi to get rid of the yellow goo blocking the pipe

Oh wow. That totally explains it! I was looking at the island map to see if I missed anything and it didn't see any hint about a completely missing stage at all:

I'm surprised it allowed me to unlock Noki Bay without ever finding Sirena beach. Thanks a lot!

I actually discovered a glitch that made you complete SMS with only 10 shines.

You may want to have the Hover nozzle. If you position yourself dead center of the little fence, jump just a little, and then use it (ALWAYS hold forward for it to work) and after a little you should see a dark Blue box around Mario. Keep holding forward until you run out of hover time. If done correctly you should be behind the fence
