Hacking Super Mario Galaxy 2 Backup loader info

More or less the problem I had. I'm sure the rev of USBloadergx wasn't the problem, but I downgrade to 892 (the previous rev I had) and installed the game with USBloader GX - solved my problem.

So what I suggest is to try installing the game again with USBloader gx - what did you use to install the game the first time? Are you running it from WBFS, NTFS, FAT? Also have you tried running it from disc with CIOSCORP, Darkcorp, neogamma, gecko or whatever.

I have put the game onto my WD Passport's WBFS partition using WBFS Manager. I do not recall installing anything through USBLoader GX however, perhaps I should look into that.
As for the running from disc option, I currently do not have any such program installed on my Wii.

Can't get it working.Using either USB Loader GX or Config USB Loader, the former gives me a blackscreen when trying to launch the game, the latter is stuck on "Loading.......".
Using system menu 4.2E, cIOSx19, cIOS38 r17, Hermes cIOS rev 5 with 222 on IOS38 and 223 on IOS60.

make sure you have ios56 (the regular, no cios on this base) installed!

do the following settings in usb loader gx:

force ntsc, language english, 002 fix on

I got it working on a 3.2E Wii with a Wiid modchip (similar to Wiikey). What I did was install ios56 with DopIos. After that I started Gecko Os, set the language to English and forced NTSC (I do have a RGB cable, so maybe other users have to choose to force Pal). After this I load it with Gecko Os and it works like a charm.

I really think this setup should work on with a Wiikey too, because the Wiid is just as old as the Wiikey.

people with black screens are obviously missing ios56, since no update with release so far, if you didnt have it it would ask you to update normally

Just a note to everyone, posting "it dont work" isn't gonna help anybody. If you need help loading the game, post the settings you're using, the cIOS you're using, the loader you're using, and anything else relatively useful.

Try uLoader 5.00. It works fine for me while USB Loader didn't.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're getting a green screen doesn't that mean you need to change the video settings via Neogamma?

Edit: I'm sure you need to change your video settings. Try different combinations of Force Video, Patch Video and VIDTV. Hope this helps!

Has anyone gotten this game to work with cheats?

Im on a PAL wii with the original wii key on an older firmware (i think 3.2) and the game works fine. no problems at all loading the game.

But with cheats, the game will NOT load. at all. I have the latest CIOS, the latest neogamma loader and ive tried three different hooktypes through it (VPI, the second one and joypad, or whatever they are called). ive tried loading it through ocarina itself and just nothing. it says codes found in the latter, but just goes to a black screen. whereas neogamma either freezes on "starting game" if i change the hooktype, or it just calls me stupid if i change no options besides "use ocarina = yes".

Any idea at all? i thought wii cheats were FAR easier than this

Lol sorry my bad, the 002 fix is always enabled in Neogamma. Play around with the options in Region Options.
