I have a 512 GB SD card that I've used since last year, that has been mostly full for some time now. I think it's partially corrupted because my games take about 20 seconds to load when they took like 5 seconds before, even with the SD card being mostly full. also, some games that I have, said they have corrupted data, the games being: Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Infinity Strash Dragon Quest, and Nintendo World Championships. all other games work normally and don't crash. when I attempt to re-install these faulty games using either Awoo or DBI, Awoo gives an error and DBI enstalls it but on the menu it shows up as a ???
none of my screenshots are corrupted, everything else is fine, hekate and atmosphere and the firmware are all updated to the latest version. and everything was fine even after i updated the firmware, it only gotr like this about a month after the update took place.

I'm gonna do it but is it gonna format my SD card as well?
I'm gonna have to try it a few days later as it will take a full day to try it. but for now without testing, I can mostly confirm that the SD card is indeed actually 512 GB as at some point it had only 600~ megabytes left from all of my games. and they all still worked.

I would copy the entire sd card to your computer, format to Exfat (you will have to use a program found on Google, Windows won't allow it over 32 gb) and then copy everything back and retry.

the issue is that Windows says it will take 2 full days to copy everything and I'm afraid the SD card will overheat or fry during the process. and if I don't want that to happen it will take a really long time to copy 10 or 50 GB at a time.
My SD card is already formatted to exFAT, unless you mean fat32

That is just bad advice to use exFAT.

Sorry you're right bad memory it's been like 6 years since I've formatted my Switch, just use Fat32 and install your games through usb or Wifi.

If you don't have a ton of games you could just reacquire them, format to a clean sd card then reinstall them.

But it shouldn't take 2 days for even a full 512 gb card, there could be something wrong with it.

If all else fails you could get a 512 gb sd card for $29.99 on Amazon most of the time. However I don't blame you if you want to try to save that one. Do the h2testw as recommended before on it make sure it's legit.

I have 116 games on my switch so it will take a really long time to reinstall them. (and I do have all the games on my switch saved to my PC)

The SD card isn't the issue, the SD 2 USB adapters I have access to in my country are just really bad.

and I do already install everything through USB

Well those are your choices copy everything to computer format and copy back, format and reinstall all games or just live with the long loading times.

I'm copying stuff rn. do I need to copy the /nintendo/content/ folder or is that not needed (I know how it's for installed files but I've heard if you format the sd card the stuff in the contents folder stops registering)

If I'm remembering right, I'm pretty sure that's actually the games themselves.

I have no idea what you're saying about stops registering, just copy everything on the card so you don't regret it later.

if that's the case then I could just copy everything but the files in there and reinstall them later. I don't mind.

I already told you about reinstalling the games separately as an option. Your saves are on your internal sd card so you dont need to worry about them, if you don't mind reinstalling all the games you may as well just format. However do copy switch folder it has all your homebrew apps.

Oh yeah and copy Atmosphere folder or else the switch won't boot
